Why the Halo Spark Plug Gets More MPG

The patented "Halo Ring" design of the ground electrode provides optimal access to the air/fuel mixture and is instrumental in helping to improve combustion efficiency. Since the flame kernel is not blocked as in other spark plugs, it can travel upward through the ring into the combustion chamber, igniting the air/fuel mixture quicker than conventional spark plugs. This results in a more efficient combustion process, leading to improved fuel efficiency, enhanced engine performance, and reduced emissions.

Based on extensive testing, including tests performed at Michigan State University, the Halo's cutting-edge Firing Technology ignites the air/fuel mixture up to 30% faster than conventional spark plugs, resulting in a more efficient combustion (approximately 95% versus 75% for standard plugs) and maximum utilization of the energy contained in the fuel. In other words, more of the fuel is burned and converted into "work" before it is vented off by the exhaust valve.

This quicker initiation allows for a more complete burn of the fuel inside the combustion chamber, resulting in an improvement in fuel economy of up to 10% (as shown in the trial results and testimonials, users often report MPG gains of 10 to 20%).

What the Experts are Saying

CNN News Story

"The better combustion you have of your fuel, the better [the] fuel economy. What people don't realize is that your standard electrode plugs are horrible for fuel economy. Halo Spark Plug makes a plug that...does not use a center electrode. It fires through the center. Guaranteed 10 percent [better] fuel economy."

How Spark Plugs Work

Spark plugs are one of the most important parts of a combustion engine. Worn out spark plugs do not ignite the air/fuel mixture properly, causing your fuel economy to go down and your engine to operate inefficiently. Therefore, it's a good idea to follow your owner's manual and change your spark plugs as recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer if you want better gas mileage.

Reduce Emissions & Help Stop Global Warming with Eco-Friendly Halo Spark Plugs

Revolutionary Halo Spark Plugs Now Available to Consumers Online

Frisco, Texas --April 20, 2007 -- LSG BRISK, LLC today announced that its revolutionary spark plug, the LSG Halo, is now available to consumers on its new Web site, www.lsgbrisk.com. The innovative spark plug uses a patented 360° Firing Technology to improve fuel efficiency by up to 10% and reduce harmful emissions by up to 20%. The Halo is currently being used by various organizations, including cities, police departments, and schools to increase the efficiency of their fleets and the company is making the technology available to the public in an effort to help consumers find relief from skyrocketing gas prices.

Gas prices have risen about 30% since February to a national average of $2.87 for a gallon of regular unleaded and will likely continue to climb towards the $3 level throughout the U.S. as demand continues to rise with the approach of summer.

"With soaring gas prices, we are pleased to make this technology available to consumers, giving them an opportunity to realize the same fuel savings that our fleet clients are currently enjoying. In addition, they will also be helping to protect the environment, and their health, by lowering vehicle emissions that contribute to acid rain, smog, and global warming," said Ram Mistry, Executive VP of Global Sales.

Unlike conventional spark plugs, which generate a spark at basically the same location each time, the Halo features an exclusive 360° Firing Technology that generates rotating sparks that fire at multiple points along a circular ground electrode. Thanks to this unique design and cutting-edge firing technology, the Halo is able to ignite the air/fuel mixture approximately 30% faster than traditional spark plugs, resulting in a more efficient combustion (around 95% versus 75% for standard plugs) and maximum utilization of the energy contained in the fuel. This increased efficiency will help drivers increase their gas mileage, maximize engine performance, and lower harmful emissions such as Hydrocarbons, Carbon Monoxide, and Oxides of Nitrogen (Nox), which contribute to global warming and other environmental hazards.

Other benefits of the Halo include up to 5% increase in horsepower and torque, better cold starts, cleaner engines, and smoother acceleration. Many customers have indicated that they noticed an improvement in performance immediately after installing the plugs, however, the company indicated that vehicles should be driven between 500 to 1000 miles before realizing the full fuel-saving potential of the Halo Spark Plugs.

One of the first organizations to experience the benefits of the LSG Halo spark plug was the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Darryl Syler, the city's Fleet Maintenance Manager, decided to conduct a trial on the city's Police Fleet to see how the Halo would perform. He had the spark plugs installed on 12 Ford Crown Victoria Police Cruisers and field-tested for about four months. To ensure the accuracy of the results, a blind test was performed. When the results were in, the City of Little Rock concluded that the Halo spark plugs improved their fuel economy by an average of 11.5%.

Mr. Syler later remarked, "I would like to tell you...how pleased we are with the results that we have had with the Halo plugs that we have been running in our Ford Crown Victoria Police Cars. They have really produced great numbers on the fuel mileage. I look forward to continued success with the Halo plugs and I would recommend them to anyone that inquires. We have seen an 11.5% increase in fuel mileage, and as fuel prices go up, this is going to be a tremendous help in cutting our fuel costs."

Based on the positive results they achieved on the trial, the City of Little Rock has decided to retrofit their entire fleet with the LSG Halo spark plugs. Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Syler and his team in the Fleet Maintenance Department, the City of Little Rock will save approximately $225,000 annually on their fuel costs while helping to clean and preserve the environment.

The Halo Spark Plug has been extensively tested by various fleets in both the U.S. and Canada, using a wide variety of vehicles, with very successful results. Some of the organizations benefiting from its use include the City of Little Rock, AR (11.5% improvement in mpg), the City of Hot Springs, AR (10.8% improvement in mpg), McKinney Independent School District, TX (22% improvement in mpg), and Summit Pest Control, TX (16.7% improvement in mpg). Customer Testimonials

Here is What Customers are Saying:

Customer tested Halo Spark Plugs on his 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe and 1991 Lexus.

"... The emissions testing on both of these automobiles has been very impressive... although these cars were relatively clean as it relates to emissions, the installation of Halo spark plugs reduced the pollution emissions beyond my imagination. We need Halo spark plugs in every car in America. This would provide for a substantial reduction in pollution from internal combustion engines and lead to cleaner air and better health for Americans. As an added bonus, our gasoline mileage has increased on the order of 15-20% since switching to Halo plugs. The cars drive better with better acceleration and improved gasoline mileage. This is really impressive."

"I thought that I had tried everything to save money on fuel, since I do a great deal of highway driving. I am very observant to my gas mileage. I drive a Hyundai Accent, 5-speed. Since I have been using the Halo Plugs in my car I have noticed an 8% increase in my gas mileage. In this day of ever-fluctuating fuel prices, generally around $0.90 to $1.00 a litre, this is extra money in my pocket! Thanks."
Deb S.
Niagara Falls, ON, Canada

"I want to thank you for making such a fine product. Claims of 10-20% fuel savings are true as I drive a Ford Excursion with the 6.8L V-10 engine. I had been getting 14 highway and 10 city. I now get 16 highway and 12 city, a nice 20% boost in savings. It may not seem like a big boost, but 88 more miles per tankful at $3.15 a gallon adds up quick. Thanks so much and keep up the good work."

"Hi, installed your plugs in a 2000 Chevy Impala 3.8L with about 27000 miles on it. Next day drove it about 900 miles. First time I EVER got over 30 mpg. Considering the type of driving I was doing (Highway/City combined), I overall averaged 18-20% better than before plug replacement. I am a retired mechanic for 27 years so I know how these things work but the only thing I wondered, considering that my OE plugs were a .60 gap, would your plugs work even better if the gap were increased (I love to increase fuel, horsepower, etc without major expense)? Thanks for a great product"

"We really appreciate the Halo spark plugs. With the results we've found, I only regret not listening to you sooner. After several months of driving and a multitude of filler-ups the results are a positive 13.33% increase in mpg. I estimate the plugs paid for themselves in two months and that we'll save several thousand in the first year alone."
Tom Story, President
Solvent Recovery Systems, Inc.

"I admit I was skeptical, I have owned my 1998 Crown Vic for five years and I check the mpg on every fill-up, I never and I mean never got over 19 mpg until I installed these plugs. Now, after 2 fill-ups, I achieve 23 mpg on the highway and 19 in the city. These plugs are not a gimmick, there were no modifications done to the car except the installation of these plugs. I'm so convinced that I just ordered some for my Taurus. I will follow up with that car soon."
S. Devero
Indiana

"Hi, just want to tell you that I installed your plugs in my '92 Lincoln Town Car in May and have just returned from a 6,000 mile trip across the country, Florida to Washington state and return, and that the gas mileage improved from 21.5 to 25.3 mpg. Car ran great and I was very pleased with the results. Thanks a lot."
A.G.

"I installed the Halo spark plugs into our propane-powered 1980 Dodge B200 Tradesman van a few months ago and everything has worked A-Ok since. I've noticed a 5 to 10% increase in fuel economy, so they definitely work and our fingers are crossed that some of the emissions have been cut with the increased efficiency in fuel burning. Looks like you've created a great product and I hope that word spreads fast enough that in a few years everyone will have upgraded to your plugs!"

"I bought some HALO plugs earlier this year for my Range Rover (Japan-spec) and Land Rover (Australia-spec)... I am very satisfied with the highway mileage results (up 10.5% for the Range Rover and up 23.8% for the Discovery II). The Range Rover is running more smoothly than ever before. I can really feel the difference. I can confidently recommend HALO plugs to my fellow members (Land Rover Owners' Club of Japan) and other LR owners for better highway mileage. Many thanks,"
Lance Bennett
Japan

"I just wanted to take a minute to let you know the results I got using your spark plugs over the past 6 months. I have a 1997 Toyota 4-Runner that was getting 16.5 MPG combination city and highway. I have consistently been getting 20.5 miles to the gallon. I wish you had a product to help my 18-wheeler get that kind of mileage increase. Thanks so much for the cost savings!"

Racing Technology

LSG BRISK: Bringing Racing Technology to You

The Halo's center electrode is made of an Yttrium alloy, which has been used in spark plugs for racing cars for years. Yttrium is a rare-earth metal that provides remarkable protection against heat corrosion and surface erosion, further enhancing the Halo's service life and performance. Since Yttrium is much easier to mine, requiring only a fraction of the raw earth material necessary to produce a Platinum plug, it's a better choice for the environment.

Standard spark plugs must be gapped to ensure performance. This gapping is an inexact science at best and typically results in only one point of the standard side-wire electrode being at the properly specified distance from the center electrode. With the Halo, the gap is pre-set at the factory and never has to be adjusted, making it easy to install and maintain. This creates a consistent gap, which is always set for optimum engine performance.

The BRISK RS01 WRC is a unique rally car powered by an engine based on the VW 2.0 TFSI. It produces 494bhp at 7800rpm and 443ft.lbs at 3700rpm. The car only weights 2204 lbs, and makes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in just 2.5 seconds.

The Halo Spark Plug is the world's first spark plug with cutting-edge 360° Firing Technology designed to maximize fuel efficiency, reduce emissions and enhance engine performance.

Top 10 Fuel-Saving Tips

With gas prices rising and no end in sight, drivers are looking for ways to improve their gas mileage and save money at the gas pump. Below are ten great tips that will help you increase your gas mileage and keep more or your hard-earned money in your pocket.

1 - Drive within the speed limit
Gas mileage decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph. According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), each 5 mph you drive over 60 mph reduces your fuel economy by 7% and is like paying and additional $0.20 per gallon of gas.

2 - Stop aggressive driving
Speeding, rapid acceleration and hard braking waste gas. It can lower your gas mileage by 33% on the highway and by 5% in the city. You can improve your gas mileage by anticipating traffic conditions and driving smoothly. Around town, accelerate slowly after every stop sign and stoplight. On the highway, go easy on the accelerator and try to maintain a constant speed.

3 - Use overdrive and cruise control when appropriate
Overdrive saves gas and reduces engine wear by reducing the engine's speed. Cruise control maintains a constant driving speed and also helps to save gas.

4 - Avoid idling whenever possible
It wastes fuel, costs you money, and pollutes the air. Idling for longer than 30 seconds uses more fuel than starting up your engine. If you have to wait longer than a minute, shut the engine off.

5 - Plan ahead and combine errands
Several short trips taken from a cold start can use twice as much fuel as one trip covering the same distance when the engine is warm.

6 - Use the right fuel octane level for your vehicle
Use the fuel octane level recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer. Most vehicles on the road use regular gas. Typically, using a higher-octane gas offers no benefits. Unless your engine is knocking, buying higher-octane gasoline is a waste of money.

7 - Fill up your car at the right time of the day
Fill up your car in the morning when it's cooler and the gasoline at the station is denser. Since gas pumps measure volumes of gas and not densities, you'll get more fuel for your money.

8 - Check your tire pressure
Check your tire pressure regularly (at least once a month). You can improve your gas mileage by around 3% by keeping your tires properly inflated. In addition, properly inflated tires are safer and last longer.

9 - Keep your engine properly tuned
Keeping your engine tuned according to the owner's manual can help increase your gas mileage by an average of 4% percent depending on the condition of the vehicle.

10 - Replace clogged air filters
One of the easiest ways to increase your gas mileage is to check and replace air filters regularly. Replacing a clogged air filter can improve your gas mileage by as much as 10%.

Paying for Gas by Cash vs. Credit Card

Many gas stations are charging 5 to 10 cents more per gallon of gas if you pay by credit card instead of cash, so make sure to check the price at the pump before you fill-up.

The large signs often show only the lower cash price to entice drivers and you won't find out that you could be paying more until you see the smaller sign at the gas pump.

Why Does My Fuel Economy go Down in the Winter?

There are many factors, which can affect your mileage in the wintertime. Here we describe some of the main reasons:

Improper Tire Pressure

Several factors conspire to lower your mileage in the winter months. One is improper tire pressure. Even if the tire is not leaking, tire pressure normally drops about a pound for every 10-degree drop in temperature. If your tire pressure has not been checked since the summer, you may have lost enough tire pressure to significantly reduce your mileage. Solution: Check your tire pressure regularly (at least once a month) to ensure proper tire pressure.

Gasoline Doesn't Burn as Well in Cold Temperatures

Another factor that contributes to lowering your mileage in the winter is the fact that gasoline does not burn as well in cold temperatures. The combustion process is not as effective in burning the air/fuel mixture and some of the gasoline is left in the cylinders unburned. This is especially true if you make a lot of short trips, since the engine uses twice as much fuel with a cold start. Solution: Whenever possible, try to make one longer trip instead of several shorter trips. You can also install a hood insulation pad to keep your engine warm.

Use of Winter Gas with Ethanol

According to the EPA, using Oxygenated Fuels and RFG (Reformulated Gasoline), which contain Ethanol, can decrease your fuel economy by up to 3%. However, other reliable sources have indicated that this figure could be much higher. According to Bob Sikorsky, a national-award-winning automotive journalist who has written several best-selling books on automotive care, ethanol blended gasoline can lower your fuel economy in the winter by as much as 10% or more.
