I was a sub-prime mortgage "victim."

How did I ever get into this position? I still can't recall exactly how it happened. One day I was happy-go-lucky, the next day I awakened to the realization that my adjustable rate, interest-only-payment mortgage was going to escalate in less than 2 years. Sounds like a long time right? Nothing to worry about? Well, with 4 kids in college and one in private high school (and too much income to qualify for much financial aid), we were dipping into our home equity line of credit every month to make up the shortage.
