Betty Boop was originally drawn as a talking poodle. Betty Boop underwent a transformation that has made her one of the most memorable, sexy female cartoons.
Betty Boop was originally designed by Grim Natwick. She was developed further under Berny Wolf, Seymour Kneitel, Roland Crandall, and Willard Bowsky. In 1932, Betty Boop became a human cartoon. Her poodle ears were transformed into earrings. She turned from sidekick to feature character as adults everywhere identified with her.
