I grew up in the 1950s & early "60s and remember seeing pinups of Betty Grable in garages and barns, etc. I knew men were putting them out of sight of their wives but did not realize until later that many of these photos had made their way home with service men from WW I and the Korean War. Interesting lens.

Yes, and she had more than that. She was a very good dancer, made great movies with Dan Dailey, among others, and she was a convincing comic actress. Lot more than legs with Betty, but they would have been enough all by themselves.

She was pretty self effacing because she certainly had a lot more going for her than her gorgeous legs

You bet. Her legs were proportioned nicely, very shapely AND had some meat on them. Today, so many of the "movie queens" have such skinny legs, like a chicken. Even Marilyn Monroe didn't have "chicken legs". Betty's still got it!
