In our fast paced society, it is easy to lose sight of the real reason why we study the Word of God.

We live in a world that is driven by accomplishments we can touch and feel. We are praised when we have mile long to do lists, and feel accomplished each time we check off a designated task.

And that works well...when we deal with things based in this physical world.

But, what happens when we begin to do things that are not based in the physical realm? When what we are doing is more spiritual in nature? Well, if we approach the things of the Spirit the same way we do things of this world, as merely goals to be achieved, then they usually won't bare much fruit.

The true purpose of your Bible Study time must be to seek the Lord. To allow Him to use His Word to renew your mind and change you into the person He predestined you to be.

God doesn't want reading your Bible to become another chore or obligation for you. He wants it to be a chance for you to grow closer to Him as your First Love.
