Bible Crafts For Kids: The Creation
Fun Bible Story Craft, Making A Collage Of The Creation
Scripture: Gen. 1: 1-31
This is one of many bible crafts for kids that do not need a lot of preparation and even the small kids, pre-school kids, will be able to take part in this easy bible story craft.
Before starting this craft tell the children the "Creation Story" as it is written in Genesis 1. Tell them that god made everything perfect.
What you need for this craft:
- A large piece of poster cardboard
- Magazines for pictures of creation
- Glue stick
- Blunt nosed scissors for the kids
- Sticky tape
This is how you do this craft:
First I need to mention that if this craft is going to be used for little kids, it is best if an adult does the cutting out of the pictures. Maybe bring someone along to help.
- Give each child a magazine and let them look for pictures that make them think of God creating the earth.
- When they have there picture let them tell each other why they choose that specific picture.
- Make a mental note of this so you can plan later lessons around these answers.
- Let the children help you stick the pictures onto your poster paper with the glue stick.
- Let the children take the lead with choosing the place for each picture.
Destroying Your Collage!!
Now We Are Taking This Craft A Step Further.
Scripture: Gen. 3:1-6
To symbolize the fall into sin of man, you are now going to cut the collage up into pieces like a puzzle. The size and amount of pieces will depend on the age and amount of children. Mix the pieces up.
Scripture: Isaiah 53: 4-10
Now you can tell them how Jesus died on the cross for us. How His death brought salvation and healing. Let them stick the pieces of the collage together again with the sticky tape. Let the children do as much of the work as possible to keep it fun.
For little kids, crafts are a very effective way of learning. Looking for crafts can take a lot of time, time that you can use a whole lot better by actually doing the craft. Bible Story Crafts For Kids -- Fruit of the Spirit Collage
Another Fun Collage For Small Kids
A collage is one of those easy Bible crafts for kids that children of all ages can do. This "Fruit of the Spirit" collage is one of our kids Bible crafts that even kindergarteners and the early primary grade school children find to be a joy filled and satisfying way to create art. For these reasons easy kids crafts like this make Bible lessons all the more memorable. This children's Bible craft helps reinforce what Galatians tell us: the "fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."Galatians 5:22-23
Bible Crafts For Kids: Collage 101
Collage comes from the French word "coller," which means "to glue."
A collage is an artistic composition of fragments, such as pieces of printed pictures and text, pasted on a picture surface.
As with all of our kids Bible story crafts, remember when introducing this to the children that the objective is creativity, fun and remembering the Bible lesson. Collage is an especially creative art form, so children should be encouraged but not directed, other than in the basics.

Supplies For This Kids Bible Craft

- Magazines (Family, children's, Christian, inspirational types)
- White craft glue, Modge Podge, or glue stick
- Paint brush
- Safety Scissors
- Poster board or other thick support that won't warp from the wet glue
- Paper towels
- Water
Easy Kids Crafts Directions

- Tear pages from magazines that show fruits of the Spirit. For example, a child rocking a baby (kindness), waiting in a line (patience), softly petting a puppy (gentleness), carrying a package for an elderly person (goodness), praying (faithfulness) etc.
- Cut out the parts of the pictures to use in the collage. For example, instead of the entire picture of a living, just the child being gentle with the puppy, etc.
- Cut out letters from magazines that when arranged on the collage will spell the fruits of the Spirit. To help children keep track, print out a page with the words (kindness, etc.). They can place the letters over the words on the print out as they find them until they have all they need.
- Optional: Cut out pictures of fruit. Some children may even want to cut their collage background into the shape of a fruit or tree. Or a simple tree outline could be drawn on the collage and then filled in with the pictures.
- Not using any glue yet, place the pictures and letters on the poster board or other support. Experiment with arrangements. Add more pictures (looking in magazines) or take away, and feel free to tear or cut the pieces until pleased with arrangements.
- Apply glue to the back of each picture with a glue stick or paintbrush and position. Press down firmly, smooth out air bubbles. Do the same with the letters, spelling out the "Fruits of the Spirit."
- Wipe off excess glue with a damp paper towel right away.
- After all the pictures and words are glued, allow the collage to dry completely.
- Optional: Using the paintbrush and Modge Podge coat the entire surface to seal.

Bible Crafts For Kids, Fruits of the Spirit Photomontage
A Really Fun Variation Of The "Fruit Of The Spirit" Bible Crafts
This activity from our Bible Story Crafts For Kids is a variation on the "Fruits of the Spirit Collage." It is similar to an activity done by a school in Hawaii who went on a field trip to "find God" taking pictures of God's work in the beauty they found, whether in a rainbow or a grandparent's smile, and in the kind and otherwise Spirit filled actions of others. In this "Fruits of the Spirit Photomontage" children will also take part in a picture-taking safari in which they take notices of the good works around them. Because this craft calls for disposable cameras, one for each child, it could be one of the more spendy Bible Story Crafts For Kids. It needn't be though if you shop wisely. Check at your local, discount stores or online for good deals. Do the same when it comes time to develop.
This is a really fun and heart-warming activity that brings personal meaning and remembrance to the Galatians verse: the "fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." Galatians 5:22-23
What is a Photomontage?
A Collage With Photos.
(For More Easy Kids Crafts Ideas Download "Fun Kids Craft")A photomontage is simply a collage or composite made from photographs, or parts of photographs. A composite photograph is made by cutting and joining a number of other photographs. The composite picture may seem to all go together as in a story or it may more resemble a collage in its variety. For young children, the collage version will be the more likely choice.
Supplies
- Disposable cameras, one for each child
- Poster board or other suitable decoupage support
- Modge Podge
- Paintbrush, medium sized
- Safety Scissors
- Paper towels
Directions For Your "Fruit Of The Spirit" Photomontage
Picture Taking - After the Bible lesson, introduce this activity, telling the children that they will be going on a field trip to take pictures of fruits of the Spirit.
- Hand out the cameras and instruct how to use them. Go over the very basic of the basics, such as the importance of holding the camera steady when clicking and how to be sure the subject is in the picture frame.
- Take the kids on a field trip to a park, petting zoo, church activity or anywhere they can find people, young and old, exhibiting acts of kindness, gentleness, and other fruits of the sprit; such as an older child helping a younger one at a playground or a young child treating a petting zoo animal with gentleness.
- If you have a class size group, ask the assisting adults or older children to watch to see if the kids are taking pictures that will come out. Second graders will remember better than kindergarteners. A younger one may want you to snap the photo for her, and that's fine.
- Have the photographs developed. If any childrens' photos didn't come out, invite others to share.
Creating the Kids Bible Crafts Photomontages
- Set up the tables with the collage support (such as poster board), Modge Podge, scissor, paintbrushes, paper towels and small jars of water.
- Trim the photos to have just what you want for the photomontage. Photos can be cut out, following the outline of the subject in the photo so all background is removed, or they can include background. Photos can also be trimmed in heart shapes, etc.
- Arrange the pictures on the background board. Experiment, moving the pictures around to get them how you want them.
- Using the paintbrush and Modge Podge, glue the pictures to the support board.
- When pressing the picture to the board, try to smooth out the air bubbles.
- This is easiest if done by press from one side to the other or middle to outside. (This can be frustrating, even for grown ups, so don't expect anything near perfection).
- Paint a coat of Modge Podge over the entire photomontage to seal it and let dry overnight.
The next Bible lesson, encourage children to talk about their photo collages, telling the class about their pictures and identifying the fruits of Spirit in them.

Bible Crafts For Kids, The Faith of a Mustard Seed Kids Craft
Use Bible crafts for kids to help the children to remember Jesus' teachings. The Mustard Seed parable is a favorite among children and this activity is one of our favorite easy kid's crafts. Young children especially love to hear stories about little things that have power and unique abilities because young children are also small in size in a "big person's" world. This Bible story craft for kids reminds children that when they first begin to love Jesus, their love is like a tiny mustard seed before it is planted. As they continue to listen to Jesus their love grows, just as the planted and nurtured mustard seed grows. This smallest of seeds, Jesus pointed out, can grow into the largest plant in the garden, so large it can become a tree with branches big enough to support birds' nests.
As older children may point out, the mustard seed isn't the smallest seed on the planet. For example, orchid seeds are even smaller. Jesus was talking about what a Palestinian farmer might have sowed in his field (Mark 4:31). And while not all mustard plants in various regions of the world grow large enough to hold birds' nests, the black mustard seed, the smallest seed ever sown by a first-century farmer in the region in which Jesus lived and taught, typically grew to heights of 3.7 meters and provided homes to nesting birds.
This is also one of the kids Bible crafts that serves two lessons; the second being the memory verse:
"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed... Nothing will be impossible for you."
Scripture: Matthew 17:20 Mark 4:30-32; and Luke 13:18-19.

Bible Crafts For Kids - Bible Study Bookmark Crafts For Kids
This simple Bible Crafts For Kids is on of our simple bible crafts for kids and kids of all ages will enjoy doing it. As our Bible verse for our lesson we use Ps. 119:33 God, teach me lessons for living so I can stay the course. Now we are going to use this verse to teach the kids the importance of Bible study. Ask them whether they know the way God uses to teach us how to live and then of course the answer is through bible study. The crafts we are going to do are to make a simple bookmark teaching us the best way of doing bible study.
The steps are:
- We pray
- We read the bible
- We think about what we have read
- We pray again
- We go out and DO
This is what you need for this Craft :

- Poster paper in the desired color
- Black felt-tipped pens
- Wax crayons in different colors
- Thin satin ribbons
- A hole punch
Teachers Prep:
This depends on the age of the kids in the class. If the kids can read and write very little prep is necessary. All you need to do is cut the poster paper into the correct size for the bookmarks. If the kids are smaller it will be best to also add the writing on the bookmarks and only let them do the drawings and coloring of the drawings.
How to do this Bible Craft For Kids:

- Let the children write on top of the bookmark the heading "How I Do Bible Study"
- Then you let them write down the steps as above leaving room for the drawings under each step.
- Now the kids draw pictures depicting each of the Bible study steps. Let them draw happy faces as the idea of the lesson is to stress that doing bible study is a joy and a privilege. Here you can tell them that there are many countries where the little children do not have Bibles.
- Let them color the pictures with the wax crayons; encourage them to make it colorful and happy as doing Bible study is a joy and not a punishment. Stress that we are happy when we are spending time with God.
- Cut the ribbons in suitable lengths to make the tassels on the bookmarks.
- With the punch make a hole in the bottom of the bookmarks and let the kids thread the ribbons through it.

Bible Crafts For Kids: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego In The Fire Craft
This is one of our bible crafts that the kids really have fun with while they are making it. The kids are going to make the fire and then they place cardboard men inside the fire, one all in white to be the Angel.Reading: Dan 3:24 - Dan 3:26 Suddenly King Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in alarm and said, "Didn't we throw three men, bound hand and foot, into the fire?" "That's right, O king," they said. "But look!" he said. "I see four men, walking around freely in the fire, completely unharmed! And the fourth man looks like a son of the gods!" Nebuchadnezzar went to the door of the roaring furnace and called in, "Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the High God, come out here!" Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego walked out of the fire.
What you need for this craft:
- Cardboard
- Craft Scissors
- Crayons
- Craft glue
- Paintbrush
- 1 Piece white crinkle paper 4" x 15"
- 2 Pieces of yellow tissue paper 4" x 15"
- 2 Pieces of orange tissue paper 3" x 15"
- Pencil
- Stapler
Teachers prep
- Cut out 4 figures of about 6" high from the cardboard.
- Draw the outline of clothes that the kids are going to color in
- Cut out squares of cardboard and glue it onto the men so that it will be able to make them stand in the ring of fire the kids are going to make. Alternatively you can just use something like Presstick. You can obviously use clothes pecks men as well.
How to do this craft:
- Let the kids color in the clothes of the cardboard men. Remember to make one's clothes completely white.
- Take your crinkle paper and the tissue papers and cut out flames on the one long side to make the top of the fire.
- Now you paste all the strips of paper onto each other in the following sequence: orange, yellow, white, yellow orange.
- Let it dry for a moment.Make a circle with your papers and staple the short sides to each other to form the circle of fire.
When you are telling them the story, you can place the men in the fire and show them how the angel came and protected them from the fire. You can let the kids look into the fire and see that nothing happened to the men in the fire.
This is a very visual Bible Story Craft and the kids really get the feeling of the three men in the fire. After you have finished with the lesson, let the kids take the men out of the fire and "feel" that nothing happened to them.

Bible Story Crafts For Kids: Making Joseph's Coat
This is one of our bible story crafts for kids that they absolutely love. Make a life size multi-colored coat for Joseph worthy of Andrew Loyd Webber's "Joseph and the amazing Technicolor dream coat!" Get your Bible reading from Genesis 37 "Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons because he was the child of his old age. And he made him an elaborately embroidered coat." This is a thrilling story the kids enjoy. This is what you need for this bible story crafts for kids:
- A piece of white paper large enough to be able to cut out a pattern that will be large enough for one of the kids in the class to wear
- Tissue paper cut into small ribbons in as many colors as possible
- Strong thick glue suitable to be painted on (or homemade paste glue)
- A paint brush for the glue
- 2 Safety pins
- A pencil

- Now the kids take turns to brush on some glue onto the coat and to stick the ribbons of tissue paper onto it. Make sure the whole coat is cover. Let the ribbons over lap a little bit.
- Cut away the excess at the sides of the coat.
Teachers prep:
Cut out a pattern of a "coat" and make tabs on top to stick it onto one of the kid's clothes. (The tabs must be similar to those you got on paper doll clothes.)
This is how you do this craft:
That is it! Joseph has his beautiful multi colored coat.
As you can see, bible story crafts for kids do not have to be difficult or expensive.

Bible Story Crafts For Kids: Garden Of Eden Collage Cards
The Bible Verse: Gen 2:15 "God took the Man and set him down in the Garden of Eden to work the ground and keep it in order."This is one of our bible story crafts for kids where each kid makes his own little collage. The idea of the craft is that the kids take it home to remind them of the lesson, instead of one craft that stays in the class. Doing the crafts requires a little more teacher prep, but it is all very easy and the kids can do most of it if they are old enough to cut our the pictures themselves. It may be a good idea to ask your friends to save their gardening magazines for you to use in this craft.
What you need for this craft:
- Enough poster paper to cut out cards of the size you prefer for each kid
- Magazines with pictures of plants (gardening magazines are ideal)
- Glue
- A pair of scissors
- Felt tipped pens
- White paper for cutting out the figures of Adam and Eve
Teachers prep:
- Cut the poster paper for the cards into the size you want for the cards. (Not too big, but otherwise the size is up to you)
- Cut out the figures to represent Adam and Eve, their size depends on the size of your cards. (For many figures, if you have a large class, use the concertina method.)
- If your class consists of little kids, write the Bible verse on top of the cards. (Get help!)
How to do this craft:
- If you have older kids, let them write the bible verse on top of the cards.
- Let the kids cut out the pictures of flowers etc. to make the garden. Remember that they must only fill about half the cards. If you paste them in a circle it looks very pretty.
- Glue the flowers on the cards.
- Glue on Adam and Eve standing in the garden.
Your memory card is done! Even though the little kids may not be able to do everything in this craft, they will still enjoy it and feel very proud taking it home.

- Let the children paste the pictures onto the poster paper. Let the pictures overlap to stress the "great" multitude.
- Put the collage up on the wall and place the table underneath it.
- Place the basket on the table directly under the collage, close to all the people.
- Let the children fashion 5 loafs of bread and 2 fishes from the play dough and place them in the basket.
- Now is the time to draw their attention to the great multitude of people and the small amount of food, stressing the miracle Jesus performed.

Bible Story Crafts For Kids: Multiplication Of The Bread Basket Card
Bible Verse: John 6:48 "I am the Bread of Life."In this bible story craft for kids they make a little card in the shape of a basket and then they write the text above on it. The idea is that they will use this card to remind them of the verse. This is a very simple craft but it is very visual and the kids will really memorize the bible verse very easily. It is true that it involves quite a lot of work for the teacher, so, it will be best if you can get help.
What you need for this craft:
- Thick strong poster paper
- A pair of craft scissors
- Wax crayons for the drawings
- Black felt tipped pen
Teachers prep:
Cut the cards in the form of a basket. Use the paper folded double so that the card can open from the top where the handle is to reveal the drawing and the bible verse on the inside.
How to do this craft:
- With brown crayons draw the outside of the basket to appear like a weaved basket. If the kids are still small it may be a good idea to show them a basket to give them an idea of how to do it.
- Open the basket and draw the 5 loafs of bread and the two fishes on the one side and write the bible verse on the other side. For the younger kids the teacher may draw the outlines of the basket, as well as the bread and the fish, for the kids to color in. Get help with writing the bible verses on the cards.
I know from experience that one can never have too many crafts. It is such a waste of time to search for crafts each week. To save you time, it is a good idea to get a crafts e-book and then you can simply adapt the crafts to serve as Bible crafts. With a little imagination almost any craft can be turned into a Bible craft. I can strongly recommend Fun Kids Crafts
