The Beginning
The idea developed in 1990. In a spare bedroom at the home of Phil Vischer. What started out as an animated candy bar. Soon turned into a cucumber, thanks to his wife. As she said, "Moms will be mad if you make their kids fall in love with candy bars." This wise woman knew what she was talking about.Being a man of God, Phil knew he wanted his storytelling and film making to communicate biblical values. As he said, "the goal, all along, was to make films that taught kids biblical values as effectively as Power Rangers taught karate kicks."
Thousands have enjoyed his gift from God. It is interesting to know, that his books also appeal to disabled children as well. Autistic children respond very well to the simplicity of the characters and the bright colors. That is truly wonderful.
God has used Phil as a vessel. To remind us what is important.
