Bible Study Treasures

Welcome to my lens.  I have been a christian for 12 years, and I really enjoy reading the bible. This lens is about what God has taught me by reading His Word.  Much thanks goes to my pastor who  taught me how to study my bible more effectively.  I plan at some point to share his method of learning the scriptures with a cam presentation on this lens.  It is very easy study system to learn, and I highly recommend it!

Bible study doesn't have to be tedious and boring.  Learning about God is absolutely amazing.  God has many treasures to open up to us if we'll just take the time to look for them.

I also will share what christian books I enjoyed reading and what music I enjoy listening to.

4 Things God Provides to Solve Our Problems --(Part 1)

Part 1 of 2

Does God loves us? Does He care about our problems? As a christian, those may seem like silly questions to ask, but if we were honest, even christians wonder this at times. The answer of course, is yes, God does love us and He does care about our problems.

One of the questions I get asked as a Sunday school teacher is, "How can I help my friend with his/her problem?" Our desire is there to help, but often we don't know how. While we won't have the answer for every problem, we can at least get pointed in the right direction.

Our 4 Needs
God has given us 4 areas that each and every problem is centered around. Some problems are in just one area, but often they are in 2 or more of these 4 areas. God, in His infinite wisdom created 4 needs in our life that must be filled. Our problems arise when part or all of these 4 needs aren't met. So what are these 4 needs?

-Security, Value, Purpose, and Family

We will discuss the first two today and cover the second two in our next section.

1. Security
This seems to be the #1 area that most people have their problems in. Insecurity. It is a huge problem in our society. Apart from God, we will never truly feel secure. Most proud people suffer from it. Troubled marriages suffer from it. Depressed people suffer from it. Gary Smalley has written a very good book for married couples on this issue called I Promise. I plan to write a in-depth review on this book at a future date. There are hundreds of passages of scripture where God has dealt with security issues. Therefore, we can use the bible to see proper and improper ways of handling security issues.

2. Value
God also has given us the need for value. Without it, we feel worthless. How many people do you know that are dealing with those type of issues. As with security, the bible has many passages we can use to help someone dealing with the feeling of worthlessness. God would not have sent His Son to die for our sins if He did not value us.

4 Things God Provides to Solve Our Problems--Part 2

Part 2 of 2

Last time, the question was asked, Does God love us and does He care about us? Many truly wonder whether or not God actually loves them or cares, but He does.

God has provided for all our need and they are centered around 4 areas. We discussed 2 areas the last time, Security and Value. Today, we will look at the other two areas. You can see these needs all throughout the bible.

The third need we have after security and value is:

3. Purpose

God has given all of us a purpose. When we carry out the purpose He has given us, we are worshiping Him. When we neglect that purpose, we will have problems in that area of our life.

The first purpose God gave Adam was to name the animals. It was his job(his purpose). When someone loses a job, they usually struggle because they wonder if they have purpose. They'll also struggle with feelings of insecurity or lack of value. Often are problems are interconnected, but purpose is an area in and of itself.

The last area of need God has created in us is:

4. Family

Not many people are loners. The reason for this is simple. God has created in us a need for family. Thus, Eve was created for Adam. The whole bible is about family beginning with Adam and Eve all the way to Christ returning for His bride the church.

By realizing that all of our problems are founded in these areas we can begin to solve our problems. First, we must look to God to solve our problems as He is the source of fulfilling these needs in our lives.
