Best lens I've read in a while! I want to definitely look into this, as Holland is the country of the bike, and I use mine to go absolutely everywhere. If I could charge my phone while biking to work or friends that would be amazing!!

Plug your tv into that generator and watch your time spent in front of the tube drop rapidly!

I have purchased some of the parts to make my own bicycle power generator. I've always loved the use of these to get children to pedal for TV privileges. :-)

Risisaputo was that cycling is good for the physical environment, but you do with this article you have put him into sharper focus flagrantly Thanks

I love this idea of using our own power to create energy. My dad rigged up a way to connect the pedal power to the T.V. when we were kids. If we wanted to watch, someone had to pedal. TV lost it's appeal after while when no one wanted to ride the bike.

    Great lens!

Wonderful stuff. I do some biking, so you never know what you could do with a little juice.

I used to attend music events and gigs where bicycle powered PA's and decks were the order of the day. If you have never heard of them - Google for RinkyDink. They encourage energetic dancing punters to come and have a pedal. The transport for the rig is even pedal powered.

what a great lens! I've seen this mentioned in books, so was glad to see a lens about it. The story on the chocolate shop was really interesting. :)

I have a friend who lives in Hawaii and works on an organic farm. The fruit stand the farm runs has a bicycle-powered blender, and apparently the staff are amused by guessing which customers will want to get on the bike and pedal their own smoothie.

The blender bike would make for an interesting Margarita party!!!

Great idea. I'll be featuring this on my 'the environment lensography'. I love that it combines saving energy with a workout. Can you change the resistance ? ;)

I love human powered propulsion (and other stuff). I'd love to have a way to power my computer at work. Stay in shape and save some money. Nice!

I think this is a great idea. Actually why not combine keeping fit with generating electricity - seems like a good plan.
