How handy is a Bicycle Computer. What do they cost? Are they easy to install?
Cateye Bicycle Computers
Ever wonder how far you have ridden your bike? Did I ride 7 miles last weekend or did I get in 120? I really enjoy knowing how far I have ridden and how long it took to ride.
The features I use the most on my bicycle computers are Average speed, Distance, and the Odometer. I like knowing how fast I am riding but I like knowing my average speed over the whole ride even more. I have had several computers since my first Cateye Solar Computer in about 1984. It came with a solar battery charger on the head to keep the battery charged. It didn't work but it was a cool idea.
My current favorites are the Cateye Micro and the Cateye Enduro 8. Cateye just came out with another wireless computer, the Strada Wireless, that has a smaller head but as yet I do not have any experience with it.
Why do I like Cateye computers? I have owned a bicycle shop since 1980 and I have sold thousands of Computers. The failure rate of the Cateyes has always been the lowest of any brand I have carried. Another advantage is the batteries and extra mounting kits are usually available from several different distributors.
I have sold thousands of the Cateye lights and computers on Ebay with very few warrantee problems.
The Cateye products I have sold over the last 20 years have always been the most dependable product in their category.
