The appeal of a mountain bike to me is to leave the modern world behind and find a terrain that was created by nature, negotiating rocks and steep declines, flying through gulley's with the wind in your face. When the whole family take part in this adventure it becomes a day to remember, and if you add camping to this, it can turn into a short vacation.
Mountain bikes are constructed to be strong and durable to meet the roughed conditions of the great outdoors.
The frames are strong and robust the tires are wide, for hill climbing they have low gears with upright handle bars.

Because bicycles are environmentally friendly, should you get a grant when you purchase one.

There are plenty of great reasons to get a bike and ride it! Money shouldn't be the motivating factor. Besides, the government does not need to be involved in every bit of our lives!

Not a bad idea, but I think the tax payer would rather see their money solving more useful problems. Bringing food on the table will be one of those.

Safety First

Alaways Wear a Helmet

Always remember to wear a safety helmet when riding your bike, whether it be short or longer journeys. Keep it low at the front to shield your forehead, make sure to tighten the chin strap and tie the buckle. Check your helmet every so often to check for damage.

    Excellent information about mountain biking. It is a topic I enjoy as promoting bicycle rental companies is a division of my company. I liked the thought provoking poll regarding getting grants for purchasing bikes since they are environmentally friendly.

    Love biking and recently we have taken to doing it more. Now that the weather is getting more conducive to outside activities, we'll be burning up some trails in Florida! :-)
