What do you think about the Big Apple Greeter Program?

Would you like to see a similar program in your city?

From the lens The Big Apple Greeter Program of New York City.

Some of the greeter programs came about at a time when that particular city was in the spotlight. For example, The Australian greeter program was created around the time of the Sydney Olympics. There are opportunites for many other cities to start their own greeter programs. If this is a project that may interest you just contact The Global Greeter Network for more information.

Great lens. Thanks for visitng my Canon Powershot G10 lens. In answer to your question: I have a Nikon D80 (Nikon D80 which has now been replaced in the Nikon range by the D90 and is an excellent mid-range SLR, but my main camera is still a film camera: a Nikon F4s which I intend to replace with a D3 or D700 soon.

That's a pretty cool idea, although I'm not a big fan of New York myself. And for the greeters, it's probably a good way to meet new people!

Sounds very interesting. I've never taken any sort of guided tour in NYC, I've just relied on finding things myself. Squid Angel blessed!

New York City seems so very big and I haven't traveled much in my life so the Big Apple Greeter program is something that would help me. Especially since it's free! I would definitely use this program.

My main interest in the Big Apple is its pre-Revolutionary War history. If I ever visit there, that would be the focus of my exploration.
Volunteer greeters is a WONDERFUL idea!! I would be scared to death to visit NYC on my own. Great lens!!

Great lens. I have been several times and always enjoy it. This program sounds like a wonderful thing and I think every city needs a greeter program. What is the right answer to where NYC got the name The Big Apple? Did I miss the answer?

New York would be very intimidating to a country girl like me. The Greeter Program sounds like a great deal.
