Nature Photography
My up and down experiences of photography.
Photography of Nature
Flowers and Wildlife
Before leaving England I was made redundant and with the redundancy money decided to purchase our first digital camera. The reason for the purchase was so that we could send our relatives emails with photographs of our family. My mother in law had got email at 70!
However, when we arrived in Spain, we loved the area so much that we started taking photographs in and around where we lived and that is where our love of photography started. Before that we just took holiday snaps like everybody else.
You can see some of our photographs up for sale at Justbyjulie they are available in various sizes and can also be framed.
My wife, in particular, loves to take photographs of nature. She is not a trained photographer, but seems to have an eye for composition. We love to try to capture not just the foreground but also what is behind the subject.
For instance we have a photograph, see image above, for sale on Justbyjulie at the moment that has Jasmine in the foreground and my wife has captured the mountains behind beautifully. I don't know how she does it, but she just seems to shoot and the photos work! She doesn't have any fancy additional lenses, just a standard Kodak camera. (Which she loves!) Because we can't afford all the gadgets at the moment!
A photographer friend of ours thinks the photos are VERY good. (When he saw them he didn't know who had taken them.) So, we consider this praise indeed, as he trained as a professional photographer!
Living by the sea we have taken some interesting photographs of sea captured in various shades of light from morning sunrise to evening sunset. Some of these are also available for sale in online store at Justbyjulie.
Where we live in Spain we have a lot of festivals which gives up ample opportunity for taking photographs of Spanish life. Some of the nature photography are of our own flowers which are cultivated in window boxes and various wall planters. (Another of my wifes hobbies!)
Sometimes we take the children out to the local safari park where with camera in hand we get some great wildlife photos. My wifes' absolute favourite animals are the tigers or other big cats!
There is a selection of our tiger photographs at Justbyjulie.
Whenever we can, we take the camera with us in case we might just capture that perfect shot. The beautiful surroundings and the many colourful festivals and fiestas give us plenty of scope for more photographs.
We have blue domed churches, white-washed streets, picturesque squares, beautiful beaches, orange groves, mountains and colourful people. What more could a photographer want?
