How To Get Big Time Weight Loss Results Fast!
Weight loss will depend on the proper manipulation of three simple factors in your life, diet, exercise and sleep. When you eat, train and sleep properly the weight will fall off you in no time, but without all three factors working for you it will be very difficult to lose weight and look great!
You need to eat right to lose weight but you don't have to starve yourself on some crazy diet. In fact most people don't eat enough, nutrients that is. They fill up on empty calories and leave their body craving nutrients, the end result is that your body craves more calories and you pig out on more junk! If you want to lose weight, you have to start by eating healthy. Consume only natural unprocessed foods such as lean meats, fish, vegetables, fruit, oats, nuts and water. No food you eat should be unrecognizable in from it's natural state. What I mean by that is, if you can't figure out where your food came from, then don't eat it! Feeding your body natural, healthy, nutrient dense foods will keep you full and energenic and reduce binges on poor food choices. Also, natural foods are generally high in fiber such as spinach and/or denser such as meat so they require more energy to digest. This means you will lose weight in the digestive process! For example, 20% of the calories consumed eating meat are burnt off by the body trying to break it down in the stomach. How is that for a great return on investment?
Exercise is often maligned and misunderstood. Do not dread exercise, learn to love it. Just because you want to lose weight does not mean you have to go to the gym every day and spend one boring hour on the treadmill. Exercise can and should be fun! Go for walks or bike rides with friends and family, join a recreation sports team, take yoga classes. Basically, get active on a DAILY basis doing activities you love! Note I said daily, this is because exercising two or three days a week is simply not enough. You need to work the body every day to keep it in tip top shape. You don't want to kill yourself every day, but you do need to challenge it. I usually do 3-4 hard workouts and 2-3 light training sessions varying the activity as I see fit. The more often you are active the higher your resting metabolism will be. This means that you will burn more calories at rest.
In the introductory paragraph I mentioned that you need to sleep a lot to lose weight. This might have come as a surprise to you because you have never heard this. Well, the reason is that no one makes money off your sleep, at least not in the fitness industry! When losing weight you want to sleep 8-10 hours a day. Yes this is a lot but trust me it will pay off. When you are sleeping you can't eat, and that means no late night trips to the fridge. Also, the more sleep you get, the better your insulin sensitivity will be. A healthy insulin system will improve your body's ability to store carbohydrates as muscle glycogen instead of converting it to fat. Lastly, losing weight is stressfull and a good night's sleep will reduce stress levels. It is very hard for your body to burn fat during times of high stress as it's natural tendancy will be to store fat.
So, there you have three simple areas of your life to improve if you want to lose weight. Eat natural foods, exercise daily and get lots of sleep. Once you have those habits down pat, then you can start looking at the crazy diets and supplements if you still need them!
