"The No Spin Zone?"
Here's what I think
Wright suggested Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly were Satan, but he also listed the Chicago newspapers and Time magazine.
He insisted that December 7 was the day the United States dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima instead of Pearl Harbor Day.
"Jesus said upon this rock I will build--listen to the promise--my church," he said. "And the gates of Hell--listen to the promise--the gates of Hell--neither ABC nor CNN--the gates of Hell--neither Hannity nor O'Reilly--the gates of Hell--neither Time, Time magazine, Chicago Sun Times, Chicago Tribune ... the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. Nothing will be impossible with God."
Wright said, taking time out to note the thousands of Japanese civilians who died 67 years to the day when American warplane dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. (Actually, Dec. 7 marks the day when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.)
The U.S. bombed Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, so Wright was wrong about the day, and of course, wrong about the year as well.
However Bill O'Reilly on his radio talk show made an issue out of Reverend Wright's lack of knowledge. By saying, Rev. Wright is not an educated man or something to that effect.
Then Bill O'Reilly again on his radio talk show, begins talking on the subject or discussion of Homosexuality. And said that Jesus had nothing to say about homosexuals. Bill O'Reilly gives the impression that he knows a lot about the bible and the life of Jesus. My first question to Bill O'Reilly is where in the bible did Jesus ever say he was a philosopher?
Some would say (just like Bill O'Reilly) that Jesus was an ancient philosopher. Others, that He was a powerful religious leader or an influential social reformer. A few might even deny that He ever existed. The Lord conducted His own poll Bill, by asking his followers, "Who does the public say that I am" (Matthew 16:13)? Not surprisingly, Jesus got a wide range of answers. But Jesus was most interested in what His followers thought so He next asked, "But who do you say that I am?" In Matthew 16:16 we find the answer, "And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus (God the son) has existed from eternity with God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit. John 1:1,14 says, "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God...and the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory." Jesus made reference to his pre-earth existence, "Father, glorify Me with the glory I had with thee before the world was" (John 17:5). Right now Jesus is in heaven with the Father just as He was before creation.
No scripture gives us a clearer picture of who Jesus is than Phil 2:6, "Although Jesus existed in the form of God, he did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. And being found in the appearance as a man, He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow."
We are most familiar with the earth life of Jesus and how He was born into this world from heaven through the virgin Mary. Yet, even when Jesus walked the earth in a human body, He was fully divine, "For in Christ all the fullness of deity dwells in bodily form" (Col 2:9). God bore witness to the fact Jesus was divine by raising Him from the dead, "Jesus was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead" (Rom 1:4).
Don't get me wrong I am a fan of Bill O'Reilly and I receive his newsletter. But Bill O'Reilly is not respecting Christ by calling him a philosopher. He does not accept who Christ truly is. He attempts to put Christ in a box and suggest that he has nothing to do with the statements in the bible about homosexuality. When it was Christ who guided the apostles in what they wrote by or through the Holy Spirit.
It was Jesus who said himself, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am." (John 8:58)
Bill O'Reilly need to know that Christ Is Lord and not solely compassionate and nothing else.
Listen to what the Lord says, "14. Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet. 15. Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city." (Matthew 10:14) It is clear Jesus condemn sin, and homosexuality is sin. No one is born a fornicator, it is acquired and the same is true with homosexuals.
Bill, Jesus acknowledge that Sodom and Gomorrah did exist and was destroyed. So Jesus was not only there, but he also destroy the homosexuals.
Now of course Bill O'Reilly will attack me for taking the bible literally. My question to you Bill O'Reilly is. What part of the scripture, (the bible) do you take literally and what part of the scripture do you not take literally? I do not take everything you say Bill, literally. Because I know what is literal and what is not. "Pinhead" is not to be take literally. So just because you used Pinhead, does that mean that I should not take anything you say literally?
Did Jesus lie about anything? Listen to Jesus as he promised to send the Comforter to His disciples, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come."
So when the apostle Paul writes in I Corinthians 6:9 -10 was it truth or not? Was it from the Son of God? Was it Paul's opinion? Listen: "9. Don't you know that wicked people won't inherit the kingdom of God? Stop deceiving yourselves! People who continue to commit sexual sins, who worship false gods, those who commit adultery, homosexuals, 10. or thieves, those who are greedy or drunk, who use abusive language, or who rob people will not inherit the kingdom of God."
Where did Paul say his message came from? 11. "For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12. "I didn't receive it from any person. I wasn't taught it, but Jesus Christ revealed it to me." (Galatians 1:11-12) Jesus kept His promise that they would be guided in all truth and they were.
Homosexuality has always been a sin. For God said . . . .
"Never have sexual intercourse with a man as with a woman. It is disgusting" (it is an abomination). (Leviticus 18:22)
"There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel." (Deuteronomy 23:17)
When you accept the sayings of man over the sayings of God are you not laying the blame at the door of God who created man and who condemns homosexuality?
If a man says he was born a beast-sexual would you say you believe that he was, or that you believe it is possible?
Just because men say so, does not make it so. Do you believe that the earth is flat? There are still people today who believe that the earth is flat. But what does the word of God say? Long Before It Was Discovered By Man, Here Is What It Says: "It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and ..." (Isaiah 40:22)
Bill now you know, what you and Reverend Wright, Have In Common.
Ready, set, debate
I believe the bible is the word of God. And not a fairy tale as some would suggest because of Santa Claus "an imaginary figure said to bring presents for children on." If one would say Christ authorized that they would be lying. No Christian in the first century practice that. I believe Christ is the Son of the Living God, the Messiah. Who had Sodom and Gomorrah destroy because of homosexuality. It was Christ who said, ". . . . .for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.." (John 8:24)
"16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." II Timothy 3:16-17
Jesus gave more details about the days of Noah: Matthew 24:38 For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship, 39They were unaware of what was happening until the flood came and swept all of them away. That's how it will be when the Son of Man comes.
As you see Christ here is warning us; that just as the people were in the days of Noah so shall it be when He returns.
Is Bill O' Reilly right in calling Christ a Philosopher instead of the Son of the Living God the Messiah.
Fetching blurbs now... please stand byJesus Christ was a Ancient Philosopher who did not condemn homosexuals. For he was compassionate.
Jesus was compassionate but he was also God the Son, the Messiah. He was with God the Father before the foundation of this world. Who also condemns sin of all kind of which homosexuality is one.
