Artists Raising Consciusness
Billie Mintz (CEO) founded ARC Artists Raising Consciousness in 1999 to identify and address social issues through storytelling. Through extensive research and contact with Foundations and Non Profit Organizations, a strategy was conceived and implemented whereby filmmakers join together with corporations and charitable organizations on certain humanitarian issues to "help heal the community" through storytelling and 'long tail' media production.ARC is a self-reflective media company that documents its own evolution through web 2.0 applications such as blogs, video logs and all manner of user submitted content.
Billie Mintz documents his own involvement and education in all sectors. He writes about the works of other social innovators so people can learn what he has gleaned and together artists can come together through technology. It's hoped that such collaboration will further refine brilliant ideas to further advance the nature of effective philanthropic giving.
