Billy Mays Infomercial Pitchmen

Billy Mays was a well know salesperson for infomercial products and resided in Florida. Some products Billy Mays was best known for promoting were Hercules Hook, SQV Ultimate Ladder, OxiClean, Kaboom and Orange Glo. Not only did Mr. Mays promote these products, but he also used them.

Billy Mays was known for his enthusatic approached and yelling to promote products. Mr. Mays was an unabashed company man. His thumbs-up TV pitches had helped make Orange Glo International one of the nation's fastest-growing companies.

Billy's in your face commercials had earned him celebrity status. He had a huge fan based. During his personal appearances people lined up to get his autograph and talk to him about the products he promoted.

After meeting with Orange Glo international Billy Mays was recruited to demonstrate a line of cleaning products and became their pitchman on a home shopping network.. Sales took off the very first day. Next came commercials and infomercials followed. Billy Mays became a public face with The Orange Glo products.

Billy Mays was a true master in the sales world and television marketing. He developed his style demonstrating "As Seen On TV" gadgets.

The final ad, which can be seen here , features Mays promoting Mighty Tape -- a product he claims works underwater.

Billy Mays 

William Darrell "Billy" Mays, Jr. (July 20, 1958 ? June 28, 2009) was an American television direct-response advertisement salesperson most notable for promoting OxiClean, Orange Glo, and other cleaning, home-based, and maintenance products. His distinctive beard and impassioned sales pitches made him a recognized television presence in the United States and Canada.

Mays was born in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, and began his career as salesman on the Atlantic City boardwalk. He traveled across the United States for 12 years, selling various items before he was hired to sell OxiClean and other products on the Home Shopping Network. His success as a TV pitchman led him to found Mays Promotions, Inc. On April 15, 2009, the Discovery Channel began airing PitchMen, a documentary series that featured Mays. On the morning of June 28, 2009, Mays' wife found him dead in his home.
