End Binge Eating And Take Control Of Your Life!
Binge Eating Disorder Help
For many years I struggled with my binge eating and it controlled every aspect of my life. Everywhere I went and everything I did had to be done around my "private life" that I simply kept to myself. But soon, instead of being in control of my own life, I began to realize that I wasn't the one in control. It was food.
I can remember the countless times that I would babysit for someone and dive into their kitchen cabinets when the children went to sleep. I'd then hide the "evidence" in my backpack so that I could dispose the trash later where no one would find it. Have you ever done anything like that?
Let me ask you...
"Do You Constantly Feel Like Something's Wrong With
You And Use Food To Ease The Pain?"
If you're anything like how I was, then you may be struggling to find out why you are like this. And even if you know the answer, the next struggle begins with how to overcome your binge eating. Luckily, I documented my journey and researched like crazy in hopes to help people like you not only overcome binge eating disorder, but also become a much stronger person emotionally.
You see, when I started, I wanted answers. Why was I like this? Is there a cure? How did this happen? Why me?
I read every single book that I could find on "Binge Eating Disorder". I read or sifted through another few hundred books. I sifted through thousands of websites. I printed off over a thousand pages of information. And the more I read, the more confused and off-track I became, which only lead me to binge eat even more.
One of the only things that kept me going was knowing that I wasn't the only one. I was amazed to find out that there were so many other people that had Binge Eating Disorder. Who were they? Where were they? I began playing with the thoughts of finding others that I could talk to about our struggle.
All of the reading and research made me even more confused. I was trapped in an endless circle that consumed my life. All of the documentation that I found out there was written by doctors and researchers who studied eating disorders.
Some called it "B.E.D." which was for Binge Eating Disorder, while others called it "Compulsive Overeating". In some books or websites I would learn that Binge Eating Disorder was an addiction, while another said that it wasn't.
Some websites told me to follow the twelve-step process used by alcoholics to overcome my binges. Yet, others told me that I would have to accept that this is how I was and to just find ways to live with it.
Live with it? Live with it? Doesn't anyone have a clue on how much this is consuming my life? It's like a nightmare that just won't go away.

Private Nightmare Like I Was?"

If you are the type of person that deals better talking to people with your similar problem, join an Overeater's Anonymous Group. These groups modify the 12-step program that you can find for Alcoholics Anonymous. If you don't feel comfortable speaking to many people at once, just sit back and listen. What is Binge Eating Disorder?
Binge Eating Disorder is a disorder in which people use food to satisfy a variety of emotions in order to cope with them. People may binge when they experience any negative emotion, such as anger, sadness, or depression. Another reason a person may binge is shear boredom. People have used food as a coping mechanism for so long that now that it is a habit to turn and use food to make them feel better.
People do not know how to deal with their "life" anymore without food. "Binge Eating Disorder" is the most common of all eating disorders. It affects about 25 million people.
When a person binges, they usually experience some, if not all, of the following: eating an usually large amount of food, feeling a loss of control while eating, consuming food more quickly than the average person, eating large amounts of food even when they do not feel hungry, feeling better eating alone because the amount of food is typically large, and feelings of guilt, disgust, and even becoming ashamed of themselves after a binge occurs.
The cause of Binge Eating Disorder is unknown. Depression and other emotional problems are prevalent in binge eaters. Many researchers think that there is a connection between people who diet and binge eat. When people diet, they deprive themselves of certain foods which causes them to want it more. When they do give in, they usually eat too much of this food and it most likely turns into a binge. Then the negative feelings set in and they make a promise that they aren't going to eat bad anymore. This usually results in starting the cycle all over again and this is known as yo-yo dieting.
There are many consequences to bingeing. High blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity are just a few complications that can arise when people binge. Many people can become sick from a binge because the foods that they chose to binge on as not full of vitamins and nutrients. The foods are fuller of sugar and fat and this, obviously, is very unhealthy.
Treatment for Binge Eating Disorder has the highest recovery rate of any disorder. People usually meet with a psychotherapist or psychiatrist. The health professional will ask questions about the person's past to figure out when they started comforting themselves with food. They will get to the root of the problem and why is started and will give advice as to how the person should deal with those feelings when they happen. If this does not work, some medications may be added to treat the binge eating.
Changing the habit of turning to food is the key point in getting started. Changing all of the old habits will put you one foot closer to stop binge eating and to start getting on with your life.

Overcome Overeating: Binge Eating Disorder
I'm sure you are wondering the same thing I was when I first started. Will I ever be able to eat some of the foods that I currently binge on? And thank goodness, the answer is YES. For me, one of my favorite binge foods was chips. (Although any sweets, salty foods, or fast food was also on the top of my list.) During my binges, I would consume a bag or two... or three.
There was a time that I feared going out to eat and being served chips. It seemed like as soon as I put one into my mouth, something would click and I wouldn't be able to stop eating them until my stomach was about to explode.
Armed with this new information, you will finally be in complete control. You'll soon find that your life will not be controlled by food any more. Instead, you'll feel better about yourself, be happier, be more confident, and maybe even go down a few clothing sizes!
A whole new world will literally open up around you, which in reality, is the world that you have closed out for so long.
