Who Am I?

I'm into a LOT of things. My tastes, opinions, interests and hobbies are varied. Reading, writing, movies... and not just watching movies but the filmaking process behind it... graphic design, music... and not just listening to music, I play bass and drums... typography, still photography, food... and not so much making it, but eating it. My wife is a fantastic cook.

And the list goes on.

Me and Squidoo

As an active and loyal user I've racked up a list of accomplishments that I'm proud of. Number 1 lens, Citizen Squid, Forum Moderator, Guest Editor, Squid Angel... and a few other things that isn't as easy to put labels on, such as helping out people with HTML, pointing out what's wrong with a lens (and also pointing out how to fix it), devising new and interesting ways of improving the presentation of a lens (which goes back to the HTML and CSS stuff).

I also run a Squidoo 'support' site. It's not official, but it does have a thumbs up from Squid HQ. It is www.lensroll.com

Squidoocentric

I take great pleasure in writing up instructions on how to do "things" and being able to reinterpret information to make it more understandable to the average user.

Squidoo is not that hard to learn, but I'm trying to make it even easier for those who have just joined the site.

A Bardiness interview with Glen

I put out a call on my Facebook profile for people to interview me to use here on my Lensography/bio, The Bard rose to the challenge. In fact he was even so kind as to provide all my responses. Here is one on one interview in its entirety...

The Bard: Hi Glen, you've been with Squidoo since the early days, what is it you like about Squidoo?

Glen: Well, Squidoo is a place where I found the opportunity to express myself and write about the subjects which interest me and also to educate and inform.

The Bard: You've produced many lenses and built up a large following, what was it about Squidoo which held your attention?

Glen: Well, Squidoo is a place where I found the opportunity to express myself and write about the subjects which interest me and also educate and inform.

The Bard: The founder of Squidoo had a mission to give a platform to people like yourself to express themselves and write about subjects which interest them and to educate and inform. How did you react to that innovation?

Glen: Well, Squidoo is a place where I found the opportunity to express myself and write about the subjects which interest me and also educate and inform.

The Bard: I hear you Glen. Squidoo encourages lensmasters to write their "lensography'". What would you say in yours?

Glen: Well, Squidoo is an opportunity to write about interests which subject me to informed express education.

The Bard: So would you say that your Squidoo lensography was an opportunity to inform others to write about interests which subject you to informed express education?

Glen: Eh? No! That's not what I said.

The Bard: But you do agree that a lensography will expressly and subjectively inform the uneducated even if they aren't interested?

Glen: Bugger off you Pommy Bastard!

The Bard: Wait! Come back! I've got four questions left!

Music

I enjoy listening to it and love playing it.

I play drums and bass.

I have an interesting collection of drums. African, Egyptian... as well as "normal" drums. Recently I bought a Pearl E Pro Live. In combination with a previously acquired Korg WaveDrum I've been having a lot of fun jamming with... myself.

As far as the bass is concerned, I've got a Fender Squier, which hasn't seen action in years. A Washburn acoustic, which (along with my passion for drums) has been dusted off after an 8 year hiatus, and I recently picked up an Ashbory bass.

I'm thinking of doing reviews on these instruments (and other instruments) soon.

Stay tuned.

Graphic Design

Here's a couple of How To guides for non-designers who have businesses to come up with something that's better than average.

More, coming soon...

I'm wary of sharing too much about myself, and my family, online. I'm an open person, just that the internet seems to bring out the worst in people if they get to find out too much about you.

But I am open to suggestions. Or better yet, if you want to interview me, with thought provoking questions, that I can add to this lensography/biography I'll also link to your own Squidoo profile.

So who's up for the challenge?

Leave me a message after the beep...
