Michelangelo (1475-1564) Born in Caprese, Italy in 1475, about forty miles from Florence. From small talent was obvious, and at the age of thirteen he was an apprentice at the famous painter in Florence Shirlandaio. A year after that he lived in a palace owned by Lorenzo Medici, ruler of Florence that acts as a protector. Throughout his career Michelangelo great talent no doubt. He often trusted by both the Pope and the secular leaders to design and create works of art. Although he lived in many places, some of the greatest spent in Rome and Florence.
Died in Rome in 1564, shortly after the age of eighty-nine years past. never been married.

He is the only artist, probably the only person, who could reach the top achievements in two areas that differ from each other. As a painter he was almost at the top, both in terms of quality beauty of his work

But Michelangelo himself considered himself a sculptor first, and many critics consider the greatest sculptor who ever lived.
