Biomechanics of the Golf Swing

So, you would like to learn more about the game of golf?

Why you have come to this page is probably either because you would like to improve your game or, learn the skills to get started.

Golf is an interesting game it can make you or break you. For most it's a game where deals are sealed and friendships are made. Though for some it's one of the most frustrating games they have ever played! You may be asking why frustration? Well, if you don't have the patience you are likely to get frustrated. Now don't let me put you off as this is a game worth learning to play but do keep in mind you may be tested just a little especially at the start.

So where to start?

I guess at the beginning right?

When learning to play golf there are many ways to swing a club but it all depends on what you want to do with the ball. One key point is to be aware of your stance as this will affect the shot greatly. The next point would be your grip, you can either hold the club like a baseball bat or you can hold it in a way that will help guide the ball instead of hitting it aimlessly.

Posture is a key element, some people stick their but out while others straighten their body to a point that you would think they have a rigid spine. Your shoulders will need to be aligned keeping you head positioned so not to hook the ball.

But before all this takes place you will need to warm up. To often people have injuries simply because they did not take the time to warm the body. If you were to think about it for a moment there is a great deal of damage that could happen when you drive the ball down the fairway. Back, neck, knee's elbow's, yes elbows! Have you heard the term tennis elbow? Well, there is actually an injury called "golfer's elbow" and it's in the inside aspect of the elbow.

Other skill's that are vital for you to learn are straight ball flight, how to align the club face correctly and how to produce a controlled swing that results in increased distance and the ability to hit more greens.

You will need to learn the difference between a full swing and chipping as well as sand chipping and putting.

It may all sound very complex but actually there are ways to learn this fantastic game that will have you playing like a pro in as little as 2 weeks if you follow some simple instructions. Enjoy!

Master your golf swing

Its all in the golf swing!

Most golfers choose to swing fast because most of us believe that speed is the same as power and distance. The harder and faster we swing, the farther the ball will go. And to some extent, this is right. But golf isn't a game about just getting the ball into the hole, but rather a game about learning self control.

If you can intelligently use self-control in the golf game, you can do it with the rest of your life. But first you have to learn to take control over your golf game and you need to discover just how the body and mind are working together to produce the best golf swing and a golf shot.

First, you have to learn to balance between the stance, posture, movement and timing during the golf swing. Instead of hitting the ball as hard as you can, you have to learn how to use the sweet spot to improve your drive. The golf swing is the basic skill that you need to master before even stepping on the golf field. But how can you tell if your golf swing is too fast or too slow?

Here are some of the signs of a fast and hard golf swing:

?If your golf ball is heading to the same direction every time you hit the ball
?The swing path curved every time you hit the ball.
?You lose control when you swing too hard.
?You lose your balance after the full swing.

To solve this problem, focus on your tempo.
You must obviously go from slow motion to full speed when you'll need to accelerate at some point. You need to do this easily and it's more likely you are to "throw" something off with your hand, weight shift, head and target. If you swing too hard and too fast, you may not get a smooth swing.

Another great way to observe if your golf swing is too fast is to have someone watching how you perform your golf swing. You can start counting and monitor how long it takes for your swing. Besides, you can also record your golf swing practice and monitor your golf swing mistakes after each practice together with your trainer.

Practice make perfect.
Make a habit out of practicing your golf swing at the driving range and examine what went wrong. To master the whole game, always master the game's basic first. There is no magic pill that helps you to improve your performance effortlessly. Besides, you need to learn the tricks from experienced players before you can master the games.
Cheers
