Are You The Hunter, or The Hunted?
Plot summary
You play the role of Subject Delta, the original Big Daddy, ten years after the events of BioShock. For some reason you have reactivated, and you have no memory of the events of the last ten years. You have access to all the strengths and weapons of a standard Big Daddy, including the drill and rivet gun. And you have free will.
As in the first game, the setting is Rapture. The Big Sisters are now your strongest adversary.
There are new game mechanics, including the ability to wield plasmids and weapons at the same time and the ability to walk outside Rapture's airlocks to discover new areas.
New game environments include Fontaine Futuristics, the headquarters of Fontaine's business empire, and the Kashmir Restaurant.

Multiplayer Modes
The multiplayer portion of the game is set in 1959, just before the events of BioShock. Players choose to take on the role of a splicer fighting in Rapture's civil war. The player is sponsored by Plasmid manufacturer Sinclair Solutions, to test out their weapons, Plasmids, and Tonics. As the player progresses, new weapons and Plasmids will be unlocked.
Players choose from pre-set characters to be their in-game avatar. The characters are: Jacob Norris, a welder, Barbara Johnson, a housewife, Danny Wilkins, a football star, Buck Raleigh, a businessman, Naledi Atkins, a pilot, and an Indian mystic named Suresh Sheti. Two characters were available only by pre-ordering the game: Zigo d'Acosta, a fisherman, and Mlle Blanche de Glace, an actress.

The following modes are available in multiplayer play:
- ADAM Grab: There is one Little Sister on the map. The player must find her and keep possession of her for as long as possible. The first player to keep the Little Sister for 3 minutes wins.
- Capture the Sister: Capture the Flag, BioShock-style. One team protects a Little Sister while the other team tries to steal her, to place her in a vent on the other side of the map. The team protecting the Little Sister will have a randomly chosen Big Daddy. After a pre-determined amount of time, the teams switch roles. The most captures at the end of the match wins.
- Civil War: Players are in two teams. The team with the most collective kills wins.
- Last Splicer Standing: Each match consists of several rounds as players attempt to outlive the players on the opposing team.
- Team ADAM Grab: A variation of 'ADAM Grab' with players divided into two teams. The objective is the same, but victory is determined by a collective score. Keep the Little Sister for 5 minutes to win.
- Survival of the Fittest: A free-for-all. Each player gets points for killing other players. The player with the most kills or 20 kills at the end of the match wins.
- Turf War: Players are divided into two teams, and each team must reach pre-determined points on the map to capture that point. The team with the most controlled points over the longest time wins.

- I loved Bioshock 2. It took everything the first game had and polished it up to perfection. I felt it could have used a more epic boss battle at the end, but an superb game nonetheless.
