About Birthstones

In 1912, the Jewelers of America association adapted the birthstone chart: composed of a different stone representing each month of the year. This chart has been used across the USA ever since, as well as other countries of the world. The usage of birthstones even goes back to Biblical times; as passages in Exodus and Revelation mention them.

Typically seen as tradition or of family heirloom status, birthstone rings have been used to signify one's birthday or that of a loved one. They are a truly thoughtful and memorable gift that will be treasured for generations to come. Here, you can browse through some of the most popular birthstone rings available today!

January [Garnet]

Garnets are typically red in color, but do come in a variety of many colors; the rarest and most precious of which is the blue garnet. Garnets are mined in the United States, Madagascar, Russia and Turkey.

May [Emerald]

Believe it or not - Emeralds are known as the most valuable stones in the world, and were highly prized by the ancient Egyptians. Typically seen as green or bluish-green, they primarily come from Colombia, Zambia, Brazil, Madagascar, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and Russia. By their nature, Emeralds are a chalky-green color. Clear Emeralds are of much higher value - and price.

Often seen in green, yellow and red (and sometimes changing amongst these colors!) - these stones are typically found in the Ural mountains of Russia, but are also mined in Sri Lanka, India, Brazil, Myanmar and Zimbabwe. Their ability to change color makes them a curious and interesting specimen of the birthstone set. The older birthstone for June was the Pearl.
