My Birth Story
I still believe the stories of joyful, natural, unmedicated births. I still believe that childbirth can be pleasant and enjoyable, even orgasmic. I believe that an easy and comfortable birth is possible but I'm not sure it's possible for me. Despite my good intentions, the births of my children were far from easy. My experiences involved pain, drugs, and this last time birth by surgical means.

It wasn't for me

I did it twice and each time it was different. I hoped for and wanted an overall positive experience but it didn't work out that way in the end.1 point

I had read everything, and I was still a little surprised.

I was 2 weeks late, induced every possible way, 11 hours after inductions began I had a contraction... 6 hours of non medicated labor, 30 more of medicated labor, and still only 3 cm dilated. I had 104 fever, and Piper had 104.5. Emergency C-section rooms were full, so 45 minutes later after the (read about and then experienced) pulling and tugging and slurping of the blood vac I saw my angel for an instant, then had to wait 5 hours with every ounce of self restraint from getting out of ICU to...1 point
