Black Stone Cherry
Black Stone Cherry hails from Edmonton, a small town in south-central Kentucky that's in the middle of a dry (alcohol-prohibited) county, where there is very little to do. For many, including the members of BSC, music was their escape. And there was a lot of music around. "There's lots of great bluegrass and southern gospel groups which we all love," says Ben. Given all this music, it's no shock that the four members of BSC have a rich musical tradition in their own families, handed down from their grandparents, through their parents, to the band themselves.

More than anything, the South is known for its music and its strong family ties. Both are highlighted with Black Stone Cherry, a Kentucky band that redefines southern rock for a modern audience. By any standard, BSC is unconventional: they take the larger-than-life mystique of classic rock and modernize it with a driving attack that is equal parts roots and modern hard rock. Few bands this young รข?? none of the four members is older than 23, the youngest is 20 - sound this powerful or versatile. They're hard and heavy, but Black Stone Cherry is southern to the core, and they come by their love of music in genuine way: it's in their blood, and it's in their home.

"Lonely Train" is the debut single of the hard rock band Black Stone Cherry from their self-titled album which was released on July 18, 2006
A music video in black and white, giving the video a dark and gloomy feeling in combination with the aggressive manner of the song, was directed for "Lonely Train", which features the band members playing in a warehouse in a small town, switching over to several other pictures of the town and its citizens.

Black Stone CherryOnce in a great rock n roll moon a band comes along that defies the law of modern type cast musical endeavors. Brotherhood, upbringing, common goals, style, and perseverance, coupled with the love and respect of each members personal and public life, and just being a collective bunch of bad asses, creates an art form that sinks into every soul it touches, and paints a picture of thumb print originality to last forever.
From it's inception Black Stone Cherry chose to write its own musical direction. By using a melting pot of early English rock, Southern rock and Blues, American Hard rock, motown, and Heavy Metal, Black Stone Cherry came out of the shoot glued together by skull crushing, heart stopping, run for your life riff rock, with lyrics that tell the truth, and sometimes stretch it beyond the imagination.
School mates and life long friends, Chris Robertson (guitar and vocals), Ben Wells (guitar and vocals), Jon Lawhon (bass and vocals), and John Fred Young (drums and vocals), have created a sound and a vibe that is contagious to the modern rocker and rootsy enough for the Fillmore East and West die hards of yester year, where hard rock music was born.
