Free BlackBerry Apps

These are the Apps I run on my BB Tour 9630 - All Free!

I have had my BB for nearly 2 years and have downloaded a lot of stuff and also removed a lot of stuff in that time. These are the apps that made the cut and are still around and used after all that time.

I am a pretty heavy user- I am a businessman and was in B-school for a year that I've had this phone, for reference. I travel around the USA a fair amount as well.

Note: I upgraded my memory to 4GB, so YMMV. It's easy and cheap to upgrade, so if you haven't, you should. Just buy a micro SD card for the amount of memory and replace it in the back for most BlackBerrys. (BlackBerries?)

Apps List

Poynt
Find anything anywhere anytime
WordPress
Post to your blog from anywhere
Facebook
Facebook app for mobile
LinkedIn
LinkedIn app for mobile
Ubertweet
This app was great until they were forced to cease and desist by Twitter last week. We'll see if they work out their differences.
BlackBerry Traffic
This is more valuable when you are in a metro area
FourSquare
FourSquare- ever heard of it?
Google Maps
Google Maps has saved me hours in the car
WeatherPlus
Weather App-very good.
Call Blocker
Block annoying calls
Social Beat
Check all your social media from one place. I liked UberTwitter in conjunction with e mobile apps for FB and LI, but Twitter shut them down.
Crunch SMS
You must have this app. You can post more than 140 characters, but it gets better than that!
Slacker Radio
Better than Pandora-bigger library, not as many commercials.
Google Talk
Hands free dialing, texting, emails, etc...
Flickr
Important changes to Flickr Photo Uploader for BlackBerry Software
Flickr® Photo Uploader for BlackBerry® Software is changing. As of March 1, 2011, you will no longer be able to use the Flickr Photo Uploader for BlackBerry Software application to wirelessly upload images from your BlackBerry smartphone to your Flickr® account.

To continue uploading your favorite photos to your Flickr account after March 1, 2011, visit the mobile site at m.flickr.com from your BlackBerry® Browser.*
Look Out Mobile Security
You're crazy if you don't have this.
BlackBerry App Store
Gotta have this, really.
Documents to Go
I didn't pay for this so maybe it shipped with the unit. I can access Word, Excel and PowerPoint, which is very important.
YouTube Viewer/Player
This is AWESOME! No need to upgrade unless you are really picky or have a much better connection than I usually have.
itookthisonmyphone
I like having this for backup, at the very least. You can customize your settings to send your photo automatically to a website, Facebook, or wherever-your call. But I send them to safely be stored in the cloud.

MemoryUp Personal
Free RAM Booster takes a one-click approach. It makes more free memory available for your mobile system, accelerates memory responsiveness, and keeps your smartphone running fast and smoothly.
The Light (Flashlight)
A handy and bright flashlight! It is convenient to use. One click and the light is on. One more click (ESC or trackball) and the light is off. Version 1.5 also has 'Toggle Light' button (or SPACE key) to toggle light without exiting an application.

Cool Accessories, Phones and Gear

I have had a Verizon account for a long time, but I always buy my phones and renew my contract via Amazon.
Result: Top of the Line Smartphone for almost nothing, if not FREE.

Free Theme List

My Favorites

I figured while I was at it, I would include the themes I regularly switch between. I'm not a Tween Asian girl, so a lot of the themes don't appeal to me, and many just are boring or just too trippy. The animated ones are great in concept, but they either are boring, expensive, or zap your battery in no time, or some combination of all those.

But I have come across some pretty good free themes that can pass professionally, but still have some personality. I have bought only one theme, just because ironically it's SO good, and that was the iBerry Today Plus one, which gives you an Apple layout.

But here are the rest:
MMMOOO Pink & Blue
This isn't really "Pink" and it isn't as girly as the name indicates. No one will know, though.
Birds!
Very nice-looking theme, but getting to learn the icons is giving me fits.
Red Happy Holidays!
For Christmas, and I wish it just said "Merry Christmas!" but my favorite color is red.
Share the Joy! - Green
Another Christmas one I DL'd before I saw the red one. I like green too ,though and it's nice to change it up every now and then.
