Save Serious Money on Blackberry Insurance

Do you know what? I am absolutely raging about the quote which was given to me from the so called 'high street provider' phone. I mean, they are already making good money on my contract. Why take it even further and rip me off more? So annoying.

The worst part of this whole scenario is that I flat out refused to pay, and then went ahead and dropped my iPhone in my pint a few nights later on a night out with the boys. Absolute nightmare.

So, I wasted about £400. I decided to take some action and do some research of my own on how to find the cheapest Blackberry Insurance going.

People, dont make the same mistake as me, and dont bury your head in the sand. Its not going to help you. Read on and be amazed at some of the cheeky loopholes I have discovered.

Dont pay High street Prices

Blackberry InsuranceSearching on google for 'Blackberry Insurance' amazed me. I couldnt believe the number of results (almost 17 million). It is a pretty daunting task trying to sift through the rubbish and find a good product which offers exactly what you need.

A common theme which I kept seeing though was that all of these independent companies were cheaper than my mobile phone provider's insurance product. I couldnt believe my eyes - why hadnt I checked this out before!

High on my list of priorities was to make sure that the company I went for was FSA (Financial Service Regulated). It was very important that I wasnt throwing my money away on a dodgy blackberry insurance product.

After a few hours of research the best product I could find came from www.insureit.2u.co.uk. They offer a saving of between 22%-25% as mentioned, but also offer cool no claims bonus which I will discuss further below (imagine o2 giving you a bonus each year if you dont claim! No way!). They are a pretty classy company in my opinion.

Make sure your cover includes the following

  • Water damage
  • Theft
  • Loss - not usually offered
  • International cover
  • Extended warranty
  • Accidental damage
  • No claims bonus - A very important point for me to make. You should receive bonuses such as free itunes songs and the like if you don't make a claim within the 12 month period

That O2 and Orange dont want you to know

Blackberry-InsuranceDid you know that many banks offer 'premium' bank accounts? I am sure you hear of them advertised on TV quite often, as well as showing up in your email box somehow. They are gagging for your business!

Well who would have thought that banks would offer you something for free? As an example, Lloyds TSB offer free blackberry insurance as part of their premium package.

The downside is that you will be forced to fill out quite a bit of paperwork, and quite a bit of the total money claimed back will be 'used up' by the excess payment. Still though, its something for nothing!
