Blackburn Rovers FC is a professional football club, playing in the English Premier League. Blackburn Rovers FC was a founding member of the football league, and was quite successful in the pre-WWII years.
The club has won a total of 3 league titles, most recently in 1995, 6 FA Cups and one League Cup. They have qualified for the UEFA Cup 3 times, but have yet to make an impact in European tournaments.
Blackburn Rovers FC play their home games at Ewood Park, a 31,000 capacity all-seater stadium, and the clubs home ground since 1890, making it the oldest home ground to any club in the premier league.
At the moment the club is in talks with American based businessman Daniel Williams about him taking over the club. If a deal is made Blackburn Rovers FC will be the fourth Premier League club to be owned by American business people.
Blackburn Rovers FC recently appointed former Manchester United and England player, Paul Ince, as manager of the club. Up until this point he has only managed clubs in the lower divisions, but has done so very successfully.
Team captain is Ryan Nelsen, a highly regarded defender, and New Zealand International captain.
Other key players in the squad are: Paul Robinson (GK), Morten Gamst Pedersen (M) and Roque Santa Cruz (A)
