Delicious Low Carb Blackened Fish
If you're trying to be cautious regarding the food you eat then you are probably trying to cook foods that a healthful, low in sugars, fat and carbohydrates. With this in mind let us take a look at this Blackened Fish recipe.
A blend of onion powder, black pepper, dried basil, thyme, sage, salt, red pepper, butter and fish fillets. When prepared and fried as directed in the step by step directions below this fish will be so tender, delicious and superb you may forget the side dishes!
However, for those in your dinner party that will want the extra entrées you could serve this blackened fish over a bed of seasoned brown rice and a side salad of fresh crisp garden greens, shaved carrots, slices of bell pepper and purple onion and topped with black and green olives, radish flowers and tomatoes.
Hot buttered cornbread and tall glasses of iced sweet tea completes a meal that is nutritious and wholesome.

Directions for Preparing Fish
Step by Step Instructions for Blackened Fish Recipe

1/2 teaspoon onion powder
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon crushed, dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon ground sage
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
Instructions
Rinse some fish filets and pat them dry on paper towels.
Combine all the dry ingredients.
Pat this mixture on your fish filets.
Heat a cast iron skillet over the grill or stove until it is very hot, then add the butter.
Open a window if you are indoors - there will be a lot of smoke!
Fry the fish for 2 1/2 or 3 minutes, until it is blackened on both sides.
Flip it once during cooking.
