How to Get Rid of Blackhead Acne
Fortunately Blackhead acne was nowhere near as much a problem for me as was whitehead acne. However I wasn't completely free from blackheads a few of them managed to sneak on to my face once in a while.
What is A Blackhead?
It is a form of acne vulgaris (common acne) whereby the hair follicle in the skin becomes clogged by body oil, officially known as sebum. Blackheads are often referred to as comedones, which are basically the small little bumps found on the forehead of other body parts likely to get infected by acne. Blackhead is a result of open comedones whereas whitehead results from closed comedones. The black color is the result of irregular reflection of light producing the dark hue.
The things that can make Blackheads worse or appear more often!
*Excessive shedding of dry skin cells which can block skin pores
*If your body increase production of body oil (this can happen during times of pregnancy, menopause, and sometime by certain birth control pills)
*Improper cleaning of skin (i.e. the oil is not being removed effectively)
*Excess scrubbing of the skin (Scrubs)
*Use of products/makeup (foundations, sunscreens, and moisturizers) that may contain too much oil (The best thing to do when selecting a makeup is to make sure the product is labeled Noncomedogenic; which means that the product will not plug skin pores and cause formation of blackheads)
Blackhead Treatment Options
As with any kind of acne, albeit mild or severe, there are all kinds of options to treat it. Fortunately, to remove blackhead you do not need to resort to high cost treatment such as Phototherapy. I was successfully able to treat my blackheads with Clearpores; which is an acne treatment consisting of Salicylic Acid and SD 40 alcohol.

Other options include things like a silver blackhead remover. Which is a tool used to extract the blackhead manually. However if you are not sure of what you are doing or how to do it, I recommend that you leave to a professional (dermatologist). If you perform the extraction procedure incorrectly there are chances that you could make the condition worse and may lead to scarring.
