Mac OS X Computer Viruses

A new type of Trojan threat has been identified on Mac systems. The BlackHole RAT Trojan virus is known to hit Apple computers. The Trojan is a remote access Trojan, and it is built to attack the Mac OSX system. The BlackHole RAT Trojan virus is just another form of the darkComet virus that attacked Windows systems. The BlackHole RAT Trojan has been created especially for the Apple platform, since darkComet is not compatible with the platform. The specifics of the Trojan are not yet determined, but experts do say that the features may get advanced in the near future.
The BlackHole RAT Trojan virus could be removed using the antivirus program supplied by Sophos. The antivirus program works best with Macintosh computers and it has been used to remove many Trojans and viruses. The Sophos antivirus program is available for free through an online download. The BlackHole RAT Trojan is spread through several sites and programs. When you download software's and zipped folders; you have a high chance of receiving a Trojan attack. The BlackHole RAT Trojan does a couple of things on your computer, such as the following; unauthorized restarts/shutdowns, random shell commands, unauthorized browser sessions, fake pop-ups, etc.
When your Mac computer is affected by the BlackHole RAT Trojan, it will send you numerous pop-up messages, telling you information about the virus itself. At times, you may get fake pop-ups asking you to enter an admin password. The attacker will then have your password for further use. If your computer is automatically restarted, you will get a pop-up message telling you that you have a Trojan horse on your computer and that Mac's can be infected. The end of the message lets you know that the BlackHole RAT Trojan virus is new and still under development. If you let the Trojan sit on your computer, it will just do more harm to your system. Mac computers have a lot of special functions and if you use your Apple devices along with it, they may get infected as well. Since this is a Trojan horse, it could easily move around through memory cards and USB drives. Running the Sophos antivirus program is the best option!
