I love mountains, and this looks a wonderful place to visit! I so like those rushing mountain streams. I was born in Ireland and there are some great mountains there, we use to go on long trips and have picnics in beautiful places when I was a child.

I love mini Asheville, thanks for the lens! One of our favorite artists, Jay Pfeil, lives there.

You should shoot down to Brown Mountain at nights to see the Brown Mountain Lights... another natural apparition of mystical lights.

I love Montreat and spent a time there years ago. Would love to go back. I used to work at a Camp near Lake Lure and it was beautiful there, too. You just can't beat the Carolinas. That's for sure. Lensrolling to Southeastern Literary Tourism Initiative. You might be interested in their next feature which will be about the NC Mountains.

Thank you for your comment OhMe. Doesn't Montreat have this very unique "good" energy when you there. I loved it!

My husband and I plan on retiring in either upstate SC or NC. The area is so pretty and we are tired of the heat that comes with living along the coast.
    Thanks for sharing.

I live a couple of hours to the west, in Murphy, NC, and I know what you mean about the western NC mountains. I moved here in 1984 and it's the only place I've every really considered my home town, even though I wasn't born here. I lived in Asheville for a year or so, but moved back to Cherokee County and love it here. Black Mountain is a great little town. I hope you are able to move there. Act on your dream! JD

I think I could live there pretty easily too! Nice shots.

It looks just beautiful. It almost reminds me of parts of Europe. I can see why you'd want to live there. Great photographs.

Some of my family came from the Tennessee side of the Smokies. I've only been there a couple of times but I agree, there is amazing energy there. 5*

We've stayed with 4 couples up in a very beautiful cabin that is now for sale in the Smoky Mountains. Our friends Dave and Victoria built the cabin. The mountains of North Carolina are some of the most beautiful that I've seen. Love your pics!

Careful, if you tell everyone, it may become a big city right up the sides of those beautiful mountains! Well done lens, Linda

I have a fondness for the Smoky Mountains and the Asheville area, the area where North Carolina and Tennessee meet. My mother in law was from Newport, TN about an hour away from Gatlinburg which is beautiful too! I know what you mean about the MAGICK. Not sure if I've been to Black Mountain, I have to check the map, but the whole area has many places with AWESOME energy!!! Thanks for sharing your fondness for Black Mountain.
