The Blair Witch Project
This is the difinition I found on line for witch:
-enchantress: a female sorcerer or magician
-a being imagined to have special powers
-Wiccan: a believer in Wicca
-hag: an ugly evil-looking old woman
-hex: cast a spell over someone or something;
I found the movie to be intertesting after I got pass all of the BS myths that people like to use for labels for others who follow different paths.
So lets see if I can put this lens together in an intersting way....shall we begin?

My Take on the Blair Witch Project
As with most states and countries all over the world, there are millions of legends and stories of hauntings, curses, and more. Originally being from the North, I remember hearing stories from childhood about the woods especially in Maryland. But also being who I am and have always been, I have never been afraid of stories that were connected the woods.The Blair Witch Project was filmed in Burkittsville,and is located in Frederick County, Maryland; approximately one hour from Washington, D.C. The actual town of Burkittsville was founded in 1824 MythBack in 1795 a lady named Elly Kedward was suppose to be known to draw children to her home and drain them of their blood. She was banished from the village in the harsh of Winter and was presumned dead. The Blair Witch.
Most of the movie was not filmed in Burkittsville but in Maryland's Seneca Creek State Park. Also, other potentially identifiable landmarks from the Blair Witch story - Coffin Rock, the Black Hills, Black Rock Road, and the local convenience store - are not found in the real Burkittsville or the immediately surrounding area.
Well, I am not going to sit here and crop the movie up. I do believe many places are haunted and carry strong legends. I believe that many people take those legends and use them for story lines for movies. None the less it makes for an interesting movie night with friends, family and lots of SNACKS!

I will admit I seen both of these movies. And I did like them for their entertainment for the best holiday season (to me) Halloween!! I also like legends and folk stories, so by watching the movies I did end up doing some research but not intense research. Interesting things you will find out by cross referencing.

Hello from Seattle! I've seen the original film; since I grew up in Frederick County, Maryland, I knew perfectly well that the film/story were fictitious. Frederick County has a lot of interesting folklore and ghost stories, but the "Blair Witch" isn't one of them. Still, the book accompanying the film release had a huge amount of convincing "details", even including a fake article from the Frederick News-Post (LOL)...

Great lens. I do like a good scary film, but there are so few of them.

Liked the lens, not seen this film for years and it really brought back memories watching the scenes. This film was record breaking in it's day as no other films were shot like it. I do believe in haunted place, we both love to visit castles and haunted houses on holiday or on days off. There is a haunted monastery in the village next to ours which has a very bad history. Great stuff 5*
