Kurosaki Ichigo is a 15-year-old orange haired high school junior forced to become a substitute Shinigami after attaining the Shinigami powers of Rukia Kuchiki, the Shinigami tasked to guard Karakura Town. The encounter with Rukia has brought his entire life into experiencing a different world and adventure. Ichigo learns about the true powers he possessed and eventually protecting those close to him.

Kurosaki Isshin, the father of Ichigo, is a the neighborhood doctor. He has a humorous character and cares a lot for Ichigo. On the outside, he acts unaware of what ichigo is experiencing. However, the fact is he is aware of every single thing about the Shinigami events which are happening to Ichigo. Kurosaki Isshin is a great Shinigami himself with a high degree of power as superior as a captain's level. The reason he has chosen to lead a normal life in karakura Town is because of his wife, Kurosaki Masaki.

Ishida Uryu is a Quincy who has been trained since young by his grandfather, Soken Ishida. Uryu bears great hatred towards the Shinigami due to their late arrival during an Hollow attack which has caused the death of his grandfather. At the beginning of the series, Uryu challenged Ichigo to see who is more superior in dealing with Hollows, however, this lures an uninvited Menos Grande, which ultimately forces both Ichigo and Uryu to fight alongside one another.

Ishida Ryuken is the father of Uryu, as well as the Director of Karakura Hospital. A work-oriented man with a cold character. Ryuken often reminds Uryu that being a Quincy is meaningless as compared to having a proper living. In fact, Ryuken possesses hidden powerful skills and he only displays them once while rescuing Uryu from the Arrancar. He offers to help Uryu to restore his lost Quincy powers on the condition that he will never be associate himself with the Shinigami again.

Hirako Shinji is the leader among the ranks of Vizards, and also the former captain of the 5th Division in Soul Society. In the past, Aizen used to work under Hirako as a lieutenant in the 5th Division. Hirako was first seen trying to recruit Ichigo into their ranks of Vizards. Hirako's hollow mask resembles a pharaoh.

Sarugaki Hiyori is the former lieutenant of the 12th Division under Urahara Kisuke. An extremely fierce-tempered and dangerously violent character who is often seen bashing Hirako. Hiyori was known to take the longest time among all the Vizards in defeating her inner Hollow during the process of awaking her Vaizard powers.

Muguruma Kensei is the former captain of the 9th Division. Base on Kensei's current appearance as a Vizard, it portrays him as a lively teenager with short, light-gray hair and numerous piercings. His Zanpakuto is named Tachikaze and is released with the command "blow it away"

Ushoda Hachigen, also known as Hachi, is the former lieutenant of the Kido Corps in Soul Society. Hachi is seen to be the physically biggest member among the ranks of Vizards. He is an expert in binding spells. Hachigen's powers are uniquely special as compared to any other spiritual powers.

Aigawa Love is the former captain of the 7th Division in Soul Society, currently one of the 8 Vizards. Love's distinct features are his pair of dark sporting sunglasses and a spiked afro. He appears to be a slacker, reading manga most of the time. Love's Zanpakuto hilt is in the shape of a heart.

Rose is the former Captain of the 3rd Division and is the most knowledgeable among the ranks of Vizards. Rose is a music lover and enjoys playing with his guitar. A very close friend of fellow Vizard Love. His Zanpakuto hilt has the shape of a diamond.

Kuna Mashiro is the former lieutenant of the 9th Division under Kensei Muguruma, currently a member in the ranks of the Vizards. Mashiro is always making a fuss for the smallest of things. Mashiro impressively maintained her hollow mask for fifteen hours during her first attempt.

Yadomaru Lisa is the former lieutenant of the 8th Division under Captain Shunsui Kyoraku. She appears with long, braided, dark hair and dresses in a Sailor Fuku outfit. She is a short-tempered person and often gets irritated easily.
