- Wipe yourself with clean wet toilet paper. Wetting the paper makes it softer.
- Apply an icepack (a perfect shaped icepack are those little icypoles you buy kiddies (you might not want to eat it afterwards! Wrap it in some damp tissue paper and away you go).
- Buy a donut shaped cushion to sit on.
- Drink lots of water to keep your stools soft

What you choose really depends on you and how you feel...suppositories get to the root of the problem but if you're in a lot of pain you probably won't like the idea of 'sticking something' in there!
Capsules that you take orally are probably a good bet, they get to the root of the problem by traveling through the blood stream and you don't have to touch anywhere painful.
