My Angel-Blessed lenses and Purple Star lenses
Ranked #2,922 in Squidoo Community, #242,465 overall
These are my most popular lenses!
Most popular with my fellow Squids, anyhow. These are the lenses that have received Angel blessings and Purple Stars.
It's always a thrill when I get a notification that a lens has been blessed. When you make a lens, you're putting a part of yourself out there for the world to see. An Angel blessing or a Purple Star notification tells you that you really connected with someone and produced something that they consider valuable.
So here's a tour of the lenses that have been highly valued by the Squidoo community.

First, the Purple Star lenses
These are the lenses that have received Purple Stars, which is sort of like a mega-sized blessing.
Some of these, of course, are also in the collection of blessed lenses.
I'm listing them here in the order in which they received their Purple Stars.

How do you get a Purple Star?
Megan Casey, the Editor-In-Chief of Squidoo, explains how it happens.
Now, the Blessed Lens Collection
My blessed lenses about gospel music
Gospel choir music is my primary niche for lenses. It's a rather specialized niche since only a small segment of people have a direct interest in choir directing. But the Angels have shown their kind appreciation to these lenses regardless of their own personal knowledge of the world of choirs.
My blessed lenses about non-gospel music
These are fun to write and some of them have a broad appeal. The "Alice's Restaurant" lens and the James Taylor lens, in particular, were very popular with the Angels and with everyone else.
My blessed lenses on edible weeds
Edible wild plants are my second niche. In the bios on each of these lenses I sum it up: I really love free food.
The lens here with the most blessings is "Stinging Nettle."

My blessed literary lenses
OK, I'm using the term "literary" loosely. It includes the fiction lenses I've done and also a couple of book reviews I wrote.
My blessed homeschooling lenses
My blessed food lenses
The corn casserole lens was another extremely popular one. Very tasty, too!
Blessed lenses about entertainment
other than music
Blessed lenses about cars
Blessed lenses about myself and my family
(excluding the ones about homeschooling; they have their own category)
The most notable lens in this category is the one about my father's life. It's the only one that I have ever specifically requested the Angels to take a look at (there are often Angels threads in the SquidU Lens Spotlight forum where you can ask for a blessing, but I like to let my work speak for itself).
But with this lens the subject was so special to me that I wanted publicize it every way I could. Also, I was publishing it for Black History Month and I wanted it to get as much attention as possible before the month was over.
Well, the Angels thought that the lens was just as special as I do. The showered it with blessings. It has the most blessings of any lens I've written.

Blessed lenses on miscellaneous topics
What makes a lens blessing-worthy?

Well, there are lots of Angels who have talked about the types of lenses they like to bless. Here is some advice from Angels who have given me multiple blessings.
The most blessed of Angels
the Angel who has sprinkled the most fairy dust on lenses of mine is . . .
Katinka! And three of my lenses have been Lens Of The Day!

- You're right, angel blessings and purple stars feel like an affirmation of our message (lens topic) and our creative abilities (in the way we present the topic). You have some great stuff!
