Lego Birthday Party Ideas: Are you wondering how to have a Lego birthday party? Do you have a kid who is a huge Lego fan?

My son is a huge Lego fan. He wanted a Lego party for his sixth birthday. With a big box of assorted bricks and 8 friends, we had an awesome Lego birthday party. He had a Lego Birthday cake, Lego games, and Lego party favors. This was one of his favorite parties. It's so easy to do! I have included ideas for games and activities to make your Lego party a success.

The Lego brick birthday cake is one of the easiest to make. Simply bake a 9x13 cake and six cupcakes. Turn the cupcakes upside down on top of the 9x13 cake and ice the whole thing in one color. I added the word "Lego" to the top of each circle with gel icing.

Pin the logo on the Lego Brick

This game is played like "pin the tail on the donkey." For this game I drew a large rectangular red Lego brick on a piece of poster board. I made the rectangle and had the six circles on the top to resemble the brick, but I did not write "Lego" inside the circles. I cut the same size circles out of red construction paper and wrote "LEGO" on each one. The kids were blindfolded and had to "pin" their logo circle on the brick. I just used balls of tape on the back of each circle to make them stick. The one who came closest to putting his circle in the actual spot on the brick won.

Lego Toss Across

This game was played with rectangle Duplo bricks. I drew several different size and different color large Lego bricks on a piece of posterboard. I labeled each brick with a point value. I placed this posterboard on the floor. The boys then tossed six duplos onto the board and tried to have them land on the Lego bricks that were drawn on the posterboard. We tallied the points and the kids who got the most points won.

Lego Drop in the Bucket

For this game I cut the tops of of several plastic gallon jugs. I put the jugs on the floor. I had the boys stand on a chair above the jug and drop 10 Legos. The goal was to get the Legos into the jug. The one who got the most Legos in the jug won.

Lego Tower Contest

I divided the boys into two teams. Each team had a box of Lego bricks. Each team had to build a tower within a certain time limit. At the end of the time, we compared to see which team's tower was tallest. That team won.

Building and Racing Lego cars

I got the small racers as a party favor for each boy. During the party, I had them build their race car and then we raced them down a ramp that I made from cardboard. The car that went the farthest won. To make it easier for the boys to keep up with their bricks while building, I gave each boy a plate to keep his pieces on.

Guess How many Legos are in the jar

I used the candy Legos for this activity. I took a jar and counted out candy Legos. As the kids arrived, I had each one guess how many candy Legos were in the jar and fill out a slip of paper with his guess. The one who guessed the closest got to take the jar home.

Free play with Legos

Make sure to give the boys plenty of time to just build with any Legos you already have. This is where a large box of assorted bricks comes in handy. My boys have a huge Lego table in the basement and they spent time down there creating and playing with all kinds of Legos. This is also a great activity as the kids are arriving.
