Something Even The Blind Can See

Today I live a life of being almost blind. I was pronounced legally blind when I was about five years old. I lived my childhood and adolescence relatively frustrating free. Life wasn't hard due to my blindness then since the eye condition hadn't progressed very far. As I hit my late twenties I started to feel very frustrated with life. I couldn't drive. I couldn't read the books I wanted to read. I couldn't join in a lot of life's 'little' things.
A couple of years ago I started going to church. They were very inspiring. I was lead to the Lord on my first day at this church. Probably because I went to church for awhile when I was anadolescencet. But I really didn't know what was going on. I just accepted it like when I was very young and had to accept blindness

Today at 30 years of age, I have accepted my blindness. I have forgiven the Lord because I know he has a plan for me. He wouldn't have made me blind without a reason. Jesus Christ is the light in my darkness and even though I am blind I can see and fellow him well.
I still find things frustrating but the Lord really helps me. Just the fact he lead me to accept my blindness on a level I never saw before has really changed my life. The Lord takes the burden of my shoulders and helps me to let go.
He carried the cross for us why couldn't he carry our burdens? I don't expect him to but he taught me to give him the burdens on to his shoulders.

Think You Don't Have A Story?

If you know the Lord I believe you have a story. I didn't think I had one either. I just left it on my heart and I prayed about it. After awhile the Lord spoke to me and I was finally able to write my story.

Amzing Grace is Gods love and forgiveness of our sings. God loved us so much he sent his his only son to die for us on the cross. We are not worthy. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23 (KJV).

Every person on this Earth has sinned. Whether it be a white lie, dishonering our parents, stealing candy from the candy store or much bigger things. Everything is a sin. Once we have sinned we fall short of the glory of God. We are no longer worthy of him. But that is why God has sent is son to die for us on the cross. That is Gods grace.

God has sent the one that means the very most to him. Would you give your son? Would you give up whatever means the most in your life? Thats what God did for us even though we was noth worthy.

What does grace have to do with your testimony?

Just like most people I use to be blind to Gods grace. I didn't understand it. I didn't know that my "little" sins like white lies and stealing was going to make me spend all eternity in Hell. I didn't know all I needed was to accept Christ in my heart and I would recieve Gods grace.

But now I see. I understand it all and it makes since to me. I have accepted Gods grace. He wants to give it to you too. You just have to accept it. How easy is that?

Christ did the hardest part for us. We just need to accept him and his grace.

Jesus Christ died on the Cross to save you from your sins. That is his gift for you so you will be able to go to Heaven. But the Bible tells us how we must accept this gift to recieve it.

1. You Must accept your a sinner:
"For We All Have Sinned And Fall Short Of The Glory Of God" Romans 3:23

2. You Must realize there is a price for sins:
"For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord" Romans 6:23

3. You Must realize Jesus paid that price for you:
"For God command his love towards us, for that, while we are yet sinners Christ died for us" Romans 5:8

4. You Must call on the Lord:
"Whosoever call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13

What I've experienced from many sighted people is they believe all bind people are the same. Whether we have same abilities or disablities. This isn't true by far. There are a myriad types of visual loss and a variation of abilities or disablities to each one. Some have simular or even exact capabilities depending on how much sight loss they are experiencing and the cause of the sight loss.

I myself have Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP). A condition in which you lose ability to have periforal, night vision, and other things. I have advanced RP meaning I have problems with contrast as well as the forementioned conditions. This causes me to have problems with too much light and not enough light. There is a fine line for me in light. What I can see can change soon as the level of light changes.

My wife who also has sight loss worse then mine appears to have better vision to me cause hers dont have the associated problems with light as RP. However her vision has its own set up drawbacks.

Someone else who has RP may not have as such a profound loss as mine so they may not have as much as or as little as function with my eyes.
There are many types of visual loss and I hope you can see and understand now why we all different from each other. You cannot impose same capablities from one blind person to another. This too I have experienced on several occasion. Somone be like well my cousin who is blind can do this so you must be able to as well. This is false too.

Lets look at it like this too. Not all completely sighted people are alike either. Some have abilities to construction houses where as one has ability to paint brilliant pictures. One has ability to opperate on hearts or maybe only on simpler parts of the human anatomy. Hey even signted people have variable eyesight.

This one seems pretty common one. Glasses. Can't you wear glasses. The thing is yeah of course we all can wear glasses has well as anyone else. Fact of the mtter though is does our eyesight benefit from wearing glasses. Some do yes. But not all. Glasses tipically help with things being to far or to close, or with reading. As I noted before there are so many types of visual loss.

With my vision loss I get little benefit from glasses. My site loss is too far advanced. Another thing glasses do not help with night vision or perferal vision.

Seems to me the majority of the sighted people believe blind people can't use computers. Well I'm blind I use a computer just fine and I have no help to use one other then software that makes the print bigger as well helps in other ways. There are several types of software out there that helps blind people to use computers. However as time goes by people make their websites harder and harder to see and use by those who cannot see very well. The colors tend to bleed together, they have flash, or they have fancy writing. These "eye candy" websites sometimes are difficult for soom who can see very well.
