Win with me on blingo.  Do you use google?  Blingo is a google powered search engine that gives away free prizes at random for searching.  It's like the lottery of search engines, only for free.  This lens will explain how Blingo works and how you can get in the action.

The Prizes

Blingo gives these away just for searching

Blingo gives away several prizes at random times of the day. Sometimes they even go on a Frenzy, giving away multiple prizes in a short timeframe. Here is a list of the prizes that Blingo currently has up for grabs.
  • Apple iPod, 30GB digital music and video player
or $299 Visa Gift Card, your choice
  • Sony PlayStation Portable video game system
or $249 Visa Gift Card, your choice
  • Apple iPod Nano, 1GB digital music player
or $149 Visa Gift Card, your choice
  • $100 and $25 Visa Gift Cards
  • $10 iTunes Gift Certificate or Blingo Movie Ticket Certificate, your choice. The movie certificate is good for one adult admission at one of the many participating theaters across the US (find one near you).

Frenzies

Sometimes Blingo goes nuts

Blingo always gives away prizes at random times throughout the day, but sometimes they give away a bunch of one prize in a short amount of time. For example, nothing but iPods for half an hour. They'll never announce a Frenzy while it's in effect, but your chances to win great prizes still increase. This just adds to the unpredictability and fun of searching at Blingo. The best part is that you're still using Google, so you don't have to sacrifice your search results to get cool prizes.

The image on the right is an example of one of the iPod nano frenzies. To find details about Blingo's last Frenzy and those before it, see the Blingo Blog's Frenzy archive.

Blingo Friends

because winning is more fun with a friend

Blingo Friends is a creative way to spread the word about Blingo. Just join Blingo Friends and then sign up your own friends. When you or someone you invited searches at the right time, you win! So if someone you invite wins an iPod, Blingo will send you an iPod too!

Basically, as you introduce more people to Blingo you increase your chances of winning great prizes.

Tips for Winning

It's pretty simple actually

Here are 5 tips for using Blingo word for word from Blingo Tips:

Tip #1: If you need to search the web, use Blingo.

If you're looking for something, start at Blingo. You'll get great results, plus you'll have the chance to win a prize.

Tip #2: Add a Blingo search box to your browser so searching is easy.

It only takes a minute to add the Blingo Toolbar to Internet Explorer or add Blingo to the built-in search box in Firefox. See how.

Tip #3: Get a little help from your Friends.

Your Blingo Friends can dramatically increase your chances of winning because you'll win whatever they win. How do you invite your friends? Just send them your invitation link.

Tip #4: Don't try too hard.

Blingo is like the proverbial watched pot. You might think that doing a ton of searches will help you win, but you're wasting your time. Only your first 10 searches in a given day qualify for a prize. In short, just use Blingo like you would a normal search engine. Our winners tell us how nice it is to get a little surprise - or a big one - as they're looking for something on the Internet. Many of our most loyal users have even won more than once, and they'll be the first to tell you that easy-going, regular usage is the best way to win.

Tip #5: Clicking links doesn't help.

Clicking links, whether they're sponsored links or search results, will not help you win. Google selects results that are relevant to your search keywords. The search results are chosen based on their content, and the sponsored links are placed by advertisers who pay for performance. We hope you'll find them useful, but Blingo offers no incentives or rewards for clicking on them.
