How to Block A Follower on Twitter

Blocking someone on Twitter is super-simple. As easy as clicking a single button. It IS in fact by clicking a single button. But there are some other things to know too.

Firstly, when you block someone it won't stop them logging out and looking at your profile, and seeing what you have written. You can only stop your updates from appearing on their "Friend's Updates" page. So don't just think by blocking someone gives you freedom to talk about them thinking they will never find out!

Secondly, they can still subscribe via RSS. They can have your latest posts send straight to their feed reader, or almost anywhere else.

Thirdly, they can just start following you in a different Twitter account.

So now you know the limitations, here is how...

Make sure you are logged in to twitter.com, navigate your way to the offending person's profile page, and look for the Block link in the sidebar.

It will be underneath the Actions title in the sidebar of their profile.

Clicking it once will take you to a page asking you to confirm. Click 'Okay, I still want to block this person' and you're done.

You will no longer show up in the list of people followed by the newly blocked user
Your tweets won't show up on the blocked person's timeline
They won't be able to follow you

And you're done :)
