To own a gun or not? - MySpace

On the one hand gun owners can justify owning a gun and in all respects there is nothing wrong with it. Guns are a good way to bond with your child; you can take her hunting or target practice and make a day of it. Many people feel safer with a gun in the house in case of an intruder.

On the other hand, guns are deadly objects that have a purpose of killing; accidental or intentional. Anti-gun activists can justify not owning a gun and in all respects there is nothing wrong about feeling that way either. Many children die each year at the hands of a gun that went off accidentally in homes just like yours.

What is the happy medium? Knowledge! Whether you are a gun owner or not knowledge can make the difference between life and death.

I do own a rifle. I have taught my children the dangers of my hunting rifle and I keep the ammo separate from the gun and hidden. I have used knowledge as a tool to reduce the chance of danger coming to my children. This knowledge came in handy one day when my daughter was playing at another house and a child found a LOADED gun and started playing with it; my daughter knew the dangers and came and got an adult immediately. Praise God!

I have been asked by several Christian brothers and sisters why I am so cautious about http://www.MySpace.com. I don't believe having a MySpace page or visiting MySpace is bad so please don't think I am judging you if you have a page. I just want to share in the knowledge that could possibly prevent harm from coming to someone you know some day.

MySpace, Facebook attract online predators

Experts say be careful what you post online - somebody is always watching

A month ago, police in Connecticut arrested a 21-year-old man, accusing him of raping a 14-year-old girl he found on MySpace. On Long Island, investigators say another man found the work address of a 16-year-old girl on one of the Web sites last fall, lured her to a parking lot, and sexually assaulted her. more...

Hey - thanks, this is really good.
I've been trying to study for exams, and I always get distracted by both myspace and facebook.
I tried altering the code for facebook, but it doesn't work.
Is there one for facebook? or can you only do one at a time?
Thanks so much!

Modest Needs

Find out moreThis and every lens made by Forgiven (Scott Smith) proudly donates all proceeds to Modest Needs.

Founded in 2002, Modest Needs is an award-winning charity that works to stop the cycle of poverty before it starts for low-income workers struggling to afford emergency expenses like those we've all encountered before: the unexpected auto repair, the unanticipated trip to the doctor, the unusually large winter heating bill.

At Modest Needs, we believe that EVERY person has the power to make a difference. So, by choice, the work we do at Modest Needs is funded exclusively by the 'small change' donations of people just like you.

The average gift of these extraordinary people? Between $5 and $100 at a time.

Since 2002, our donors' 'small change' has stopped the cycle of poverty for 3651 individuals and families who stood to lose everything over a short-term financial emergency. But with your support, we could reach even more of the hard-working people who need our help the most.

Discover your power to change a life. Please join your friends and neighbors in supporting Modest Needs.

Because Modest Needs has earned the highest possible charity rating from the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance, you can give with confidence, knowing that we won't abuse your kindness.

But more importantly, simply by working together in this very modest way, we can make sure that no hard-working person is ever forced to choose between taking a child to the doctor and putting food on the table.

HTMLinc.com - Full Service Web Hosting

HTMLinc.com - Full Service Web HostingWe finally went off the deep end! After years of service to local churches and families in crisis, HTMLinc has gone public offering the same care and quality web hosting, design and domain services at a very reasonable price. This is not a typical do it yourself web hosting company. Same technologies, same powerful data centers (speaking or data centers, our data center in Texas uses windmill technology to give back energy to the grid. Now that's going green!) and same high quality standards with some VERY important twists! Here are a few reasons why HTMLinc.com stands apart from the flooded world of web hosting:

* The most important reason is: HTMLinc.com conducts business according to the bible and not the world! The world sees nothing wrong with hosting sites with pornographic material or anti-Christ messages. HTMLinc.com will not nor every host a web site that goes against the teaching of the inerrant bible!

* Full Service Web Hosting! That's right, we do it all for you! We will custom design a 3 page site for you, setup as many email accounts as you need, update your site, maintain both your site and your domain, assist in SEO and much more!

* Mail Scanner and CSF firewall is used to prevent spam and hacker attacks! We had one business (Discount Filing) drop from over a 1000 spam emails a weekend down to under a dozen! Now that is serious protection!

* No resellers or over selling! That is right, if we say your site is allowed X amount of space and bandwidth, that is exactly what is allotted! Not many web hosts can say this. They know that if they offer you a large amount of space or bandwidth you will never use this much so they can get away with over selling their servers but this often comes back to bite them when the sites become popular or large stores, resulting in server errors and downtime! Not good...

* Member of the Hosting Code of Ethics.

* Satisfaction Guaranteed! Period! We conduct business according to Colossians 3:23 which says: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Using this passage as our guide we are pretty sure you will be satisfied with the services rendered, if not, we will gladly issue a refund!

About Forgiven

blog and work

I am a simple man with a wife, a baby fresh out of the oven and 2 kids that are well done =).  I make mistakes, I hurt, I cry, I love and I live. I am just a man with no degrees or labels. I offer something that can never be taken or forced, never stolen or cheated and I give freely the gift given to me; purchased at the highest cost. The most important and sacred gift of all -Love! Dig deeper, walk with me and discover the source of this amazing gift.

The majority of these lenses are designed to inspire Christians to reach for a new level in becoming kingdom minded and less worldly. While it may seem that I assume everyone is a Christian; that could not be further from the truth. I understand that the Christian movement has not grown in ages in America. My personal mission is to share Jesus Christ by giving the living testimony of my life and trust in the power of the Holy Spirit to inspire and convict. Put simply, I am powerless and lowly but the Spirit within me is only limited by how much I get in the way. I am learning to "walk".

All too often people are shown the gospel of Christ and then left to figure the rest out on their own so to speak. It is my prayer that the journey or "The Walk" will not be alone, that we will become what we were designed to be: -We are the Church!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and God bless,
Scott Smith
