Blog and Ping - Keys To Skyrocket Your Social Bookmarking

Blog and ping have been a duo that served as tools for generating traffic for a particular website. What you do is create a blog relevant to your site, which contains links that would direct a reader to your website. In order to make the blog engines know that your blog has been updated, you ping it. For a period of time, the duo have worked alongside with each other.

But, another development in information technology came into the picture. This development allows an Internet user to store, organize, and share the sites they find interesting and valuable. This development is referred to as social bookmarking. Because users come together to a community where they can discuss with the other users their thoughts about a particular site, it has driven traffic to various sites. And, having seen this ability, the online marketers found an online marketing strategy in social bookmarking.

While social bookmarking gives promise to generating traffic, this promise has been enhanced by the older traffic generating tools: blogging and pinging. As an online marketer, you retain the blog that you have had for website, and update it as regularly as you did. There is an addition to the whole process, though. Register with as many major social bookmarking as you like, and every time you post a new material on your blog, social bookmark it. While you get one way links for your site through the social bookmarking sites you are a member of, you also get to advertise and promote your site for free. To complete the process, ping the updates on your blog and social bookmarking accounts.

Since your goal is to have other people see your site, bookmark your articles publicly. Thus, the other users will get to see them. When they find your bookmarks helpful or interesting, they are going to bookmark it too, hence, creating a group of visitors for your site. And what does this mean? Increased traffic for your site and of course, potential customers.

You see, while social bookmarking can work independently, its use would skyrocket if it works hand-in-hand with blogging and pinging. Why resort with a one head, when two, or in our case, three heads are better than one? As an online marketer, you should take advantage of these marketing tools. Almost everybody is using them, and your failure to make use of them may mean the failure of your business at the same time.
