Back in November of '06, I was approached by Wiley Publishing and asked to write the official "WordPress for Dummies" book. I was really excited to be asked to write the book. I've been working with, and using WordPress, since the day it hit the web - and its a tool I'm pretty passionate about.

WordPress has allowed me to run 2 business sites with relative ease - being so easy to use means that I could concentrate more on my clients than on updating my own site, which is very cool. I come from the old school of web design - I used to hand code all of my webpages in HTML, using NotePad. Anytime I needed to make an update or change to the site - I'd open up the file, manually insert the changes... save it, upload and publish it. It was a pretty time consuming process when you're running a busy website that you want to keep updated with relevant and current content.

I've watched as many of my clients - both my design clients, and my hosting clients, use WordPress to achieve the same great results with their websites. So, yea - you could say I'm a big fan.

What I need now? A "Writing a Dummies Book for Dummies" Heh! I'm 3.5 months into this project and its about 1/3 of the way done and I've learned a valuable lesson: Just because you know the topic well - doesn't mean that writing the book will come easy!

The first 2-3 chapters didn't come so easy - but now that I'm on Chapters 7-10... it's flowing a bit better than it was in the begining. I never thought I'd be writing a book about anything, really - but I'm really glad to be involved in this project and, at this point, cannot wait until publishing day!

It's scheduled for release in July 2007 - wish me luck!
