Discover how to make money with your blogs

Squidoo is a great example of Web 2.0, the new wave in internet marketing. If you have a blog that is supposed to make you some money, you need to learn about Web 2.0 and everything that includes.

If you have a blog, or if you plan to make one, setting up a Squidoo lens is one of the ways you can really boost your blog's ranking. You'd be wise to set up a lens or two or three now, while it's still fairly new. It will be easier to get the name you really want.

For example, I set up two lenses yesterday for a dog site and a gardening site and had no trouble getting the first names I submitted. Today, setting up this blog lens, I had to submit about a dozen names before I found one that was not taken.

Be sure to ask any questions you have about blogging and I'll try to answer them. I'm a teacher and I love to answer questions.

As I'm growing this lens be sure to visit my internet marketing blog that already has a bunch of information how to make money online. It teaches all about blog marketing and how to set up an authority site.

Oh, and the picture up above are the three reasons I'm doing this.

Great Authority Sites

Here are some terrific authority sites that people have created with blogs

These are blogs I have found that are great Web 2.0 or authority sites. They have a lot of interaction with their visitors and provide lots of great content.

The owners of these sites are involved and active. They are not sites that were put up in a few minutes and left.
Online Security Authority
I know the guy that created this. He's done all this in about a year, which is amazing. Look around this site and see all that he offers his visitors.

Web 2.0 and authority sites are all about giving visitors such a great experience that they return over and over.
Friday Traffic Report
Here's the site for one of my teachers. Jack Humphrey is the man to watch to learn what's current in the blogging world.

If you have a feed reader I recommend you latch onto Jack's RSS feed and keep up on what's happening with blog marketing, linking, seo and so on.
Christy's Dog Portal
This is a Web 2.0 site in progress. It's my site I'm putting together as a gift for my daughter. She's not too interested in blogging yet, but she loves dogs. If it wasn't for her, we wouldn't have Scout or Sugar or Bonnie or . . .

I'm excited that this month it looks like I will be getting over 3,000 unique visitors and over 5,000 total visitors. Christy is starting to rank pretty high for some popular search terms.
Internet Home Business Blog
This site tells you how to make money online with your own blog. Information about starting a blog, how to get visitors, what plugins to use to promote your blog, and more.

Starting Your Own Social Community Online

In this video Jack Humphrey shows you why and how to set up a social marketing site with your blog. He posted this March 28, 2008, when it had almost 1,000. One month later it was over 1,100 members, including me.

Books to Help You Get Started Blogging

Some of my favorite Internet books

The books listed here are ones that I used and still use when I'm working on my blogs.

I found the book Web Site Design Made Easy a simple way to learn basic HTML. Having a basic knowledge of HTML is necessary or you might go crazy trying to do the simplest modifications to your blog.

The Public Domain book by Fishman is a classic. If you are going to look for public domain works to rewrite and sell or to use as content on your blogs, you really need this book.
