Blogging in the Key of We

Have you ever noticed that some of the best songs are those that we make for ourslves? Are you blogging in the key of we? Are you a musician? I don't mean the kind who necessarily knows how to play an instrument well enough to play at Carnegie Hall or even in the school band. Do you enjoy music? Truly and sincerely love it? Maybe you subconsciously hum while you work? Perhaps your greatest pleasure is to sit down and pick a favorite tune on the piano ~ ~ ~ one note at a time? Then again, you might simply enjoy listening to CD's? To my way of thinking, someone who loves music is, in fact, a musician. I'm sure there are some folks who would disagree, but that's how I feel.

I recently discovered Squidoo. I wish I could recall who or what pointed me in this direction, but I didn't realize the significance of what I had found until after I searched through many lenses. I'm thankful to be here. I can feel the music as I glide from one symphony of Squidoo's refrain of joy to the next... perhaps an opus. As I find the harmony between the lines of numerous amazing lenses, I'm learning and growing in ways I never thought possible. I'm beginning to realize that we are all blogging in the key of we, as we cooperate and help each other succeed. That's why I chose the accompanying photo; the child's face IS how I feel about Squidoo.

A Brand New Squidoo Song

Singing in Old Squidoo Park

The camp fire at Old Squidoo ParkGather 'round the camp fire. We're gonna' sing a brand new Squidoo song. I love singing in Old Squidoo Park; don't you?

With every strum of the guitar, let's give it some feeling. Come on, now; put some heart into it and let the MONSTERS know we're here: You know the tune about being home on the range, right?

Dome On the Net
(To the tune of Home On the Range)

Oh, give me a dome
Where the Squid Monsters roam
And the Newbies and Giants all play;
Where we play real nice
While we help other guys
And the other guys help us, next day.

Write, Write on Squidoo,
Where the folks are all writing for you,
Where we can have fun
In the rain or the sun
It's addicting for Oldies and new.

Let Amazon Help You Sing

Use Music to Create Your Mood

Let Amazon help you sing life's song the way you want to. You can use music to create your mood by playing the type of music for what you want to accomplish. Why not listen while you work? Do you have a large task before you? Try listening to Marching music or a lively Irish Dance song for inspiration. When I wish to tackle housekeeping and actually accomplish something in the process, nothing will do but for me to put on a CD that speaks to the rhythm of my heart. Were I to play something quiet and soothing my goals would soon be forgotten, allowing my mind to drift to more pleasant endeavors, such as writing.

Music can help create the mood for whatever you are doing. Rocking a baby? Hum a soft lullaby. Reading Scriptures? Listening to hymns can touch your soul and open the understanding that you desire. There's a time and a place for nearly every type of melody or rhythm on the planet. Naturally, not everyone will enjoy the same things. Some will learn to play a trumpet for the privilege of marching in the band. One person will play the violin and float away on strings vibrating their melancholy sweetness. A small child might purr an unrecognizable tune that reinforces a sense of security. Music is important to every person, for it whispers of memories, hopes, dreams and past accomplishments; as well as anticipated pleasures.

Share Music With Your Friends

Help Keep the World In Tune

A World in Perfect HarmonyYou can share music with your friends and help keep the world in tune. Consider this; friendships are made every day over music. Have you ever been listening to a song and someone commented on how much they liked... or hated that particular song? Many people begin conversations because of a song, a commercial with music or while being involved in a music-centered event, such as in band or choir.

What are your thoughts?

Do you or could you love music?

Don't b-flat ~ invite harmony into your life

What are you thoughts about music? Do you or could you love music? Music can bring harmony to many situations. When you're struggling to keep from losing your temper try singing a song to bring your thoughts back under control.

When my babies were born I started singing to them while we were still residing in their first mortal home; the hospital. I wanted each of them to know that I was thrilled to have them in my life. Over the years, there were many times when I burst into song to remind them that they were special. I also used that method to encourage or as a nudge to help them remember not to act in unacceptable ways. I found that when I employed music, our home was far more loving than when I used my 'Outdoor Voice.' In fact, even my husband responded more favorably during those situations that could have turned ugly. Who knew that husbands disliked being yelled at, just as wives do? *smile*

Listening to Music in Wide Open Spaces

Drift Away on the Sounds of Music

I love listening to music in wide open spaces. I can drift away on the sounds of music. I feel that keeping the radio or CD on, full-blast, while driving can be dangerous because important safety issues can be missed. On the other hand, it seems there are times that even loud music has a place. Depending on the type of dance, it would be silly to keep the volume down low. How do you feel about it? Jump in and state your case below.

Music is like the wide-open spaces. When the crickets an frogs are playing their song it's time to listen quietly. Then, as the sun starts to peek its nose over the horizon an' the birds begin to sing the glorious cacophony spreads her wings. Music... wonderful, glorious, beautiful melody... loud an' long an' reaching into your very soul is enough to make a person glad to be alive. As though every fiber of your being stretches to come alive, the harmony of Mother Earth spreads far an' wide.

Before you know it, things begin to settle down, birds soften their voices an' frogs come out to add a little harmony. The sun falls slowly in the sky an' the sounds of Mother Earth are as the whispered memories of our own mama's voice, singing us to sleep. That's when our thoughts relax an' we are lulled to that wonderful place, somewhere past where we can almost recall a memory of the music from long ago. That's when nothing should interfere with time or thoughts or sound.

Music is best when played loud and long, for all the world to hear.

Music should always be a background sound.

whiteskyline says:

Lemme try that again...YESSSSSSSSSS!

WayneDave says:

I love music. I almost NEED to listen to music everyday.

YayasHome says:

Boy, don't I know it, Whoisbid. Music is just such an important part of our lives that completely turning it off would leave me feeling empty, somehow, ya' know? At the same time, it is something that I think slows progress, more times than not.

whoisbid says:

Wow.. so hard to answer. I wanted to be in both answers because I believe there is a time and place for everything under the sun

YayasHome says:

I do like soft background music, CannyGranny. However, when I first read your comment I had to hurry and check what I had done wrong. At first, I thought maybe I had typed all capitals. Then, I realized you were answering my question. Thank you so much. *Whew*

There's a time for enjoying music loud and another time for hearing music without being conscious of it.

TheLittleCardShop says:

Depends on the moment sometimes it is nice listening to music loud and other times when you have it as a background sound. I listen to music all day long :)

mihgasper says:

I like it fast and loud and I like it slow and easy. And I can enjoy moments of silence too:-)

WayneDave says:

I posted mine in the wrong column, sorry! I LOVE music.

manlalakbay says:

Music is everything. It makes us alive. :)

JoshK47 says:

I can't concentrate without some music playing... keeps my brain gears a-tickin.

Learn to Play an Instrument

A person is never too old to add to their life's 'Well of Knowledge.' Seeking further knowledge can be a fun adventure, as well as giving a person depth in their personality. When one of my sons was about to reach his fifteenth birthday he suddenly announced that he wanted to learn to play the violin. That was the first time I ever heard him mention the violin and learning in the same conversation. Naturally, I felt that this sudden interest would fade quickly, but to my great surprise and pleasure, he bought a violin and applied the time and effort it took to learn how to play well enough that more than twice as many years later, he still enjoys spending some quiet time to relax with his music. Perhaps you have wanted to learn to play an instrument? Maybe a guitar, piano or drums? I've never forgotten my dream of learning to play a flute or piccolo and although I have not learned yet, that doesn't mean I won't.

There Are Internet Melodies

We All Sing In Harmony

Singing the Song of Contentment

I've discovered there are internet melodies, too. Online or offline, we all sing in harmony. Years ago, there was a tune that spoke of teaching the world to sing. At Squidoo, I feel as if that dream is actually in the making.

Life Would Be Different Without Music

There Would Be No Birdsong

Don't b-flat ~ invite harmony where Squidoo has started the songLife would be different without music, I'm afraid. There would be no birdsong or song of the whale. It takes everyone to contribute to the song of life. The hope is that everyone is lending a part to the joy of the symphony and not the screech of nails across a chalkboard. Don't b-flat. Invite music from everywhere.

We All Sing Together

We Harmonize As A World

We all sing together as we each live even in our separate lives. We harmonize as a world, even when we don't know each other. It is said that music makes the world go 'round. I believe that is true. When times are good an' my heart is overflowing with joy, I sing aloud. The music I share is upbeat an' joyful. When times get tough an' I just can't deal with it, I sing. The mournful reaches of heartache can be felt by every person who comes within the sound of my voice. Music is how I express every emotion. Since writing on this page, I've learned that I am not actually in the minority. Lotsa' other folks whistle, sing, hum an' generally express themselves through song. How 'bout you?

Besides, what are the chances that I could even remember all the songs I've collected? Still, I can't bring myself to part with the hope that I WILL be able to salvage that wonderful old music; the music that carried me through the joy and despair of my past; happiness beyond measure, buckets of tears and long afternoons of bitter-sweet reflections. Those are memories that can't be replaced. All you can do is refuse to let go and wish there were some way to upgrade.

Good news! Now, you have another choice. with Sony Creative Software Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 - 2011, you're in control. Now, you can take back the memories you thought you lost. Take it back with Sony Creative Software Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 - 2011.

We all want to learn to play an instrument, don't we? In the first place, there's a certain mystique in knowing how to do something that others don't. Secondly, playing an instrument builds confidence. Then, of course, is the pure joy of being able to create something of your own. Bells are the perfect instrument at any age. No sore fingers from strumming. Nothing heavy to carry around. And don't forget; with everything in one convenient place you can carry this instrument with you and practice whenever you have a few minutes to spare. How soon will you have yours?
