Blog Marketing Basics
Publishing a blog is fun - but having many people reading it is even more so. But that won't happen automatically. You have to put in some effort and do some blog marketing.
There are many different things you can do to promote your blog and get it in front of many readers. But not all of these are effective or worthwhile.
In this lens, we'll look at some of the methods and principles behind them that work from a blog marketing viewpoint.

Blog - And Then Blog Again!
Host a blog on your own web hosting server. But also host others on 'remote' (not on your hosting server) services like Blogger.com, MSN.com and Google.com
This way, without having to churn out a lot of fresh content, you can have multiple content resources, all reaching a different segment of your target audience.
Hosting Your Blogs Remotely
MSN.com has a service called 'Spaces' in its new Live.com area. In addition to other features, it offers members an easy-to-manage blog. Set up an account and post to that blog regularly too.
Google Groups also has a discussion list feature - which allows web-based archiving too. Choose this option, and your messages will be published on the web - where Google's spider will find and link to it.
There are hundreds of other services that will remotely host your blog. Do a quick search for them and start building many blogs!
What To Publish On Your Blogs?
Post the same blog post or article excerpt, with minor changes, to each of these blogs - and have them link back to the full article on your website. Or use an excerpt of the full post, with a link to the rest on your main site.
This way you will build a set of one-way links back to your article page from multiple different servers, adding a level of search engine optimization and link popularity to your blog.
