4- Cannibal Holocaust (1980)
Even though this is on the fourth number in this list, but it is one of the most controversial and bold Halloween movie. The story unfolds in New York; an anthropologist Professor Harold on his research journey explores the wild South American. He becomes aware of the disappearance of the documentary film makers from US. The area is famous for its prehistoric and savage cannibal tribes living in the dense rain forest. The two guides help him to contact with the two tribes, Yakumo and the Yanamo. The sad discovery of the remains of the film making crew makes almost end of jungle explication. The remains also include the last diaries, and footage of crew. The professor takes them to New York and this begins his study about what had happened in the jungle? 5- Pieces (1983)
In early 1983, this movie Pieces also called (Mil Gritos Tiene La Noche) was shown in theaters. Initially, the theaters did not receive it well, but when it came into the video, it instantly gained a status of cult horror movie. Either you love it or hate it to bits here is no middle ground, having said that you can't completely take it as blood bath on screen. The story unfolds with a teenager who hates his mother for nagging him. One day out of sheer rage and tyranny of hate he just kills her into pieces. Some 40 years after this same murder scenario is repeated. The detectives Chris, Frank, Linda and the amateur detective solve this puzzle Ian Sera. 6- Re-Animator (1985)
This is a medical horror movie with many horror & thriller elements. The movie begins very innocently with the medical student getting involved in a strange impermanent on dead people. It includes all typical Halloween stuff such as a lot of cutting of body parts and blood. In the middle of it the girlfriend also gets involved and the bizarre leads to string of very sharp and funny incidents. This re-animation of dead people leads the students into big trouble rising dead people etc. But it is not entirely a horror movie, it has some humor sprinkled in the movie. 7- Evil Dead II (1987)
This is second in the Evil Dead series. This time the lead is Ash, and Linda they are young couple who did some experimenting with several reading of magic chants and words. During this experiment they accidentally open the doors to the evil forces. Entire story revolves around their attempt to survive from the attack of evil force. The book of dead holds many answers but they must find a way to get out of this cabin and the one night becomes an endless horror trip. This movie is also very popular in Halloween. 8- Saw VI (2009)
This is an adventure where the team is forced to face a series of obstacles. The completion of that leads to unlocking of the final step, a huge challenge for the team one can easily see. William is doing this to save Pamela William's sister; Tara and Brent also come to rescue. Tara is asked to kill William but she can't do it. 9- Ichy the Killer (2001)

This film is the first of this series and it's really exceptional. The story begins when a Yakuza named Anjo takes away 300 million yen. The henchman, Kakihara comes with his mob to take back the money and kill him. Anjo runs away and in the process he has to fight for his life. Anjo comes out as a good marital arts player. The war starts and Ichi has to save him in front of the blades, swords and Ninja army. The final showdown is the real critical point of the movie. 11- Nikos (2003)
This is another good choice among the Halloween film craving. It is based in New York and this time the barbarian spirit is resurrected to torment the city. This happens due to a robbery attempt that opens doors to the ruthless barbarian evil that came from Romania. This starts a storm of events that lead to the city being tortured into pieces at many places. 12- Brain-dead (1992)
This is another teenager's story of rampage, the lead Lionel, is ridiculed kid in school and home. The mother always taunts him. The child has the take care of the mother who is very dominating. He is not allowed to go out, but somehow he meets a women and fells in love but the mother will not allow him. She sabotages the dates, and ruins his chance of happiness. This makes the kid go crazy and he zombifies the mother, but she refuses to go away. Music of the movie is simply outstanding. - Great lens. Some great films though I can think of a lot more bloody however they are not very mainstream.

- My favs on your list are definitely Evil Dead II and Freddy vs Jason. I wrote a F v J lens recently. And my brother and I went to see an Evil Dead musical in KC last weekend! No kidding. Awesome stuff. :)

- I love your selection. I'm surprised that you've featured some of the most controversial horror films out there, The Devils Rejects is my favourite for sure. Did you know that Brain-dead has been directed by Peter Jackson (Lord of the rings trilogy)?
