    Never heard the Bloody Mary story before. Is that perhaps where the drink, 'bloody mary' got its name? It is enough to give anyone the shivers!

    Two of my friends have done the call for Bloody Mary on a dare. All I can remember of that night was the two of them went into the bathroom and about 5 minutes later they came running out of the bathroom screaming. We asked what had happened. All they could do was shake their head. They never told what had happened to them until years later it came out that they had seen a women covered in blood in the mirror. Great lens, thank you for sharing.

    BTW ... there is a True Ghost story out of Amherst, Nova Scotia ...late 1800's called Esther Cox and the Great Amherst Mystery. You should be able to get it free as a ebook at Gaslight.

    I love these repetition summoning stories. I've never had the courage to complete the summoning ritual. Betty Gilson is a semi-famous one in Nashua, NH.

    So I was way younger.. 6 or 7 and we was messing around. My friend said hey let's play a game. Of course I agreed. We went in this room all it had was a mirror and a shed in it and the mirror in the wall. So we shut the door and stood on the bed. Repeating. Bloody mary the room had a dim flow and the mirror lit up blood began draining from the mirror and there was a dark shadow replacing our reflection.. we jumped off the bed ran for the door.. I looked back the figure was holding its hand out reaching for us.. we started screaming and kicking the door our parents opened the door and everything went back to normal. We was crying so hard... But how is this not true when we both saw the same thing. At the same time. Still to this day I'm nervous about a dark room and a mirror.

    One day at school, before the trip, I was talking about bloody mary to Drew before trying to summon her.(Now, that was in the day, so when I tried to summon her, it did not work.) After I tried that, he jumped out in the mirror screaming. (i could tell easily) And so we went to Ohio Caverns, only to be scared by darkness. When I went to sleep, I had a dream, a freaky dream. It was a dream.............about........................Bloody Mary, the real thing! I was also talking to a dead person. I still have occasinal dreams about her. I would go on, but I said enouh for now.

    i did this before wit my friends in elementary and after that when someone would flush the toilet it wouldnt stop flushing. then we found out that after we did that someothing went wrong wit the plumbing system

    i will never do this ever even if someone dares me to i will be to scared!!!!! i cant even say the word bloody mary when i think of her i get chills in my spine even if i just read about her.

    Me(13) and my sister(11) read these together at 1:46am (Not the smartest thing we've done to kill time) Now I bet she's gonna annoy me up until 4am saying "I'm scared, check the closet!" or "Holly! Could you put that doll in the box?". Anyways, I loved the stories :) Now, I'm definetely not doing it though xD.

    Chills up the spine --- Bloody Mary is one of those things that I always chicken out on finishing in the bathroom mirror. Yes, even as a 25 year old male, and I'm not ashamed to admit it!

    This is my expirience...
    Okay, so one day I was bored to death and I had nothing to do. Then I remembered Bloody Mary. I turned off all of the lights and chanted her name 3 times. Before anything could happen, I burst the door open and ran out of there like lightning. A few minutes after that, I went to go take a shower. I had this weird feeling that someone was in the bathroom with me. My bathroom wall is shiny, so you can see the reflection of anything. I looked at the wall that was not covered by my towel and I see the reflection of a women who had black long hair and was looking at me with an evil look. After getting out of shock, I turned off the water and ran out of there.
    Since then,I have hated going into that bathroom. I also have felt like someone has been watching me everywhere I go. Even now as I an typing this, I fell like Someone is watching me. Sometimes, I even see black shadows moving in the corner of my eye. When that happens I get headaches and start to get real dizzy. I recomend never trying this unless you want to be stalked by a ghost that might or might not be Bloody Mary.
    People who are very sesitive to the paranormal world like me may encounter a few more things. I have also encountered seeing blood on walls and getting cuts on my arm from no where. Once wheen I was in my living room using the computer, I had a mirror in front of me and I saw the same refelcation of the girl who I saw in the bathroom that day.NEVER EVER try this because if you are sensitive to te spirit world you will encounter some scary things like me!

    I am a fifth-grader and I love to hear Bloody Mary stories. I once tried it. I said her name three times,but I ran out of the room before anything could happen. I recomend not trying this because you will feel a little weird after it. After that, I felt like someone was watching me everywhere I went and I still do now. Once in a while I see a shadow move in the corner of my eye and it scares me to death.

    Tthese stories are so different it's crazy.
    I do have a story of my own to add to this:
    Some of my friends did a chant to summon Bloody Mary a few years ago and they heard things. One of them felt someone grab her. They all felt like someone was watching them. No one would go anywhere alone for the rest of the night.
    The next morning they all woke up with bruises, even the ones who didn't do anything. One of them fell asleep hours before the summoning, and woke up with bruises around her wrist and she said that she fell asleep on the other side of the room. Another had bruises around her neck. Someone else had cuts on her legs. This freaked everyone out, but the worst was yet to come.
    The next morning one of them looked in the mirror and screamed. She said that she was covered in blood and that there was a lady standing behind her, laughing. No one else would look in a mirror for the next week.
    I asked one of them about it and she wouldn't tell me, so I asked someone else. I got pieces from her, but she started shaking, so she wouldn't tell me the rest. It took me a week and asking everyone there to get as much as I'm telling you.
    I would think that it was made up, but I know my friends. This happened.

    anyways... I got a little off topic there, this was a really cool lens!

    Bloody Mary was my biggest fear as a child. I turned all my mirrors backwards and hid them away until I was about 14. :)

    My child and his friend have been playing with this. So I shared the lens with him. The boys are 9-yrs-old and pretty impressionable. Pretty cool though and lots of work. Well done. Lens blessed.

    Very Interesting Lens! My cousin who was 12 at the time tried Bloody Mary once when I was about 8. I was standing outside the bathroom and she came running out screaming and said she saw a terrifying ghost with a knife. I never was brave enough to try it and was actually scared of mirrors for quite a long time. Now, I know that she was just faking me out but at the time I believed her!

    The true bloody mary is the queen of England. The whole little story about the mirror is not real. I did this several times the right way for years and nothing has ever happened. Its all in kids heads and I never thought about it to much.

    my sister and me did it and we saw a shadow behind us but my sister's friend's told us to do it and which we did it and didn't really know anything about bloody mary and nobody told us what will happen by standing in front of the mirror.and now we got in some serious trouble for doing it and now i feel veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bad of what i did and i didn't mean to do it,God please forgive me for what i did,and for what i didn't mean to do.

    Another interesting lens. I first heard of Miss. Bathory when I was taking a Criminal Justice class and her name came up as a serial killer that used to kill y0ung peasants and then bathe in their blood to stay young looking but I have never heard of the legend about her appearing, horrifically scarry. Great lens.
