Panasonic DMP-BD50K 1080p Blu-Ray Disc Player Review
Pros:* A complete profile 2.0, the final standard for the Blu-ray Disc format, Blu-ray player.
* Superb picture quality. Upconverted DVDs look excellent.
* Easy to understand owner's manual.
* Remote control and on-screen display menus are easy to use and understand.

* Audio setup a bit tricky and to enjoy the amazing audio quality (Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, etc) you need to have an HDMI cable or 5.1 analog cables since digital coax or fiber optic cable won't do.
* The analog output only supports 5.1 surround and not 7.1.
* Expensive.
* The display window on the front of the player only shows time and not chapter
* The HDMI input is a little too bright but can be adjusted easily by tuning down your TV contrast.
* The picture controls on the set don't offer as much adjustment as the controls on a TV.

Pros:* Jaw-dropping picture quality. Regular DVD looks better too.
* You can set the player to output 1080p/24 BD video just in case your TV only supports 1080p/24 but not 1080p/60.
* TrueHD sound makes you feel you're actually in the action. If you only have a 2.1ch system it can downmix to stereo.
* Easy setup.
* There's a slot in the back for a USB drive plus an ethernet port so you can connect to the internet for firmware updates and access bonus features.
* A sleek and aesthetically appealing piece of gadget.
* Fast responds of remote functions.
* Easy to navigate menu similar to PSP and PS3.
* Skipping through chapters and shuttling through scenes are simple.
* Connecting to the internet is simple.
* Silent fan. Almost unnoticeable.
* You can turn off the LCD display entirely. A must if you enjoy watching movies in a dark room.
Cons:
* The remote a little bit too large.
* You can't turn off Sony's GUI control panel (Xross Media Bar) over the desktop pattern. It's always on unless you are playing a disc.
* Slow startup/load time though still under 20 seconds (almost twice faster than the old S300).

"I hooked this up to my Onkyo TX-NR906 Receiver and Sharp LC-46D-64U it was a seamless connection except for a few setting changes.. This Onkyo DV-BD507 is so simple to set up.. I'm not a tech freak but I do have two older Blu-Ray players Sony BDP-S1 & Sharp HP20U They both have great Blu-Ray pictures and excellent up scaling to 1080P.. But this new Onkyo BD507 to me is above excellent on the Blu-Ray movies and the up scaling to 1080P on regular DVD's.. - S. SABO (Ballico, CA)"

"Netflix & Youtube work great along with the blu-ray player itself!!! Quick setup and easy to use, for the technologically impaired, such as myself!!! Highly recommend this product for someone who is not looking to spend a fortune, but is looking for an easy to use, high quality blu-ray player!!! The Netflix & Youtube are two super added bonuses, because very few low priced blu-ray players have such expensive functions!!! I have not used the other functions yet and i honestly do not know if i will, so i have no product review for those, sorry. Hope this was helpful & happy shopping!!! - b-joy"
