An Homage to Blue Christmas Lights
I have always loved blue Christmas lights. They seem to emanate peace to me. For years I've been having a contest with the sun to see how long I could keep my lights up without having them fade. That's another reason blue lights have been so precious. They really only retain that lovely deep blue for about three weeks, at least here in the upper midwest. The new LED lights are fantastic for blueness, but I'm still waiting to see how fast they fade. So far I'm getting more than one year, at least.
Now if I could just find a true blue-violet colored light (instead of the fuschia they call "purple") I'd be in heaven.

- It seems like every house in the south of England has blue Christmas lights this year. To me it doesn't look right - it looks cold and eerie. I much prefer the traditional Red, Green and Yellow lights, which look so warm and jolly. But that's just me... I think blue might look better if there was a foot of snow on the ground.
